I'm currently living in a dorm with a community bathroom. It is quite the experience and has definitely upped my tolerance for a lot of disgusting things. Plenty of nasty things happen all the time. A girl threw up blueberries all over the floor. A toilet was covered in pubic hair. There was a smear of blood on the wall (still don't know how that happened). Most commonly, girls will stick their hair on the walls of the showers.
Many of you have probably dealt with the experience of living with a community bathroom. What did you think of it? Any interesting stories/experience that you would like to share?

Thankfully, we had a great custodial staff when I was a freshman in the dorms. I lived in a co-ed dorm so both the male and female bathrooms had urinals in them. Often times, drunk girls would puke in the urinals instead of the toilet and just leave it. It was disgusting.

It was inconvenient, since I always had to wear sandals to shower. It definitely can be a hit or miss, for me it was a miss

I chose not to live in dorms with communal bathrooms. I can't handle having to grab a robe, key, and walk down the hall at 3am to pee.

Well the campground we lived at for a few months had a community bathroom/shower, other than all the damn spiders that hung out on the walls it was alright.
About the worst things that happened were that I got Athlete's Foot from the shower stall and the stench of bleach that would linger for several hours after the daily cleaning.

Screw dorms. Campus living is outrageous $ for what you get. I lived in a dorm for one quarter and that was enough. I'd always go for an apartment off-campus. I don't really care about the social scene, anyway.

When I was at college, we had apartment-style dorms, where each person had their own bedroom and each bathroom was shared between 2 people. You remind me how lucky I was!
