So We have been planning a vacation for a while now. We were going to go to Savannah because my hubby has never been to the beach. It's supposed to rain so we chose Gatlinburg instead. We are all set and ready to leave in the morning. SO excited....

But then...

I get a phone call today , my family ( parents and siblings) are also going to Gatlinburg this weekend and they are only staying right around the corner from us..


what part of vacation means I want everyone else to go too? UGH!
If I hadn't already booked the hotel and all the attractions I'd cancel!

anyone else ever had a vacation crasher?

I have a question or two: Do you normally advertise your trips to your family well in advance? -and- Have they done this to you before?

If the answer is "yes" to both, may I suggest either lying about where you're going or not bothering to tell them until the night before?

Yes!!! My husband and I had planned a week at the beach, attending a national motocross race, a lot of romantic plans and taking our Corvette on the trip.

His ex dumped his son off the night before our trip and told us-in a letter included with his son--that she was taking time for herself and could not be reached or around for a couple of weeks.

We grabbed my daughter, took my sedan and still had an amazing week. We just postponed our romance until the following month. I was furious with the b@#ch, though!!!
