I'm making simple cupcakes soon and I'm wondering, should I do chocolate with a caramel icing or a spice type cake with caramel icing? All homemade from scratch.

LOL I have had the best cupcakes ever!! use devils food cake mix and make the cupcakes. poke holes in them when they are done and cooled. mix up cherry jello and pour a tiny bit, less then a teaspoon full into the cupcake and put them in the fridge. let the sit then put chocolate frosting on them and enjoy!.

chocolate cupcakes, okay? with potato chips in the batter, okay? then chocolate frosting drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with a bit of sea salt, topped with a freakin chocolate covered pretzel.

Both sound good, but spiced cake is more seasonal and just as delicious as chocolate ones imo.

Definitely chocolate, spice cake is yucky duck. That's just my opinion though, spices in cake..? Blech!

the chocolate sounds like it could potentially be too sweet w/ a caramel icing (which would never bother me, but would other people). a caramel icing sounds like it would go well w/ a spice cake.

Chocolate sounds good, but I love a WHITE FLUFF icing on a dark chocolate cupcake. YUM. However, caramel would not be bad!
