I believe in aliens, and I'm open to the possibility that they've visited us (though the chances of that are extremely small), but I don't know about abductions. Possible, yes, but somehow I can never swallow an abduction story when I hear one.

Same here. When I hear abduction stories, my first thought is call Penn & Teller, we have some BULLSHIT here. However, then I think of how big the universe is, and what we do here on our own planet when we want to study an animal — tracking, collars, captivity — and for a moment it doesn't seem quite as impossible.

Heh, true. For animals it must seem just like an alien abduction: strange creatures come after them (sometimes in flying vessels), shoot them with a weapon that makes them sleepy and incoherent, and when they wake up a device has been strapped to their neck or they're suddenly in a strange new place!

For the record, if aliens do visit us, and they're friendly, I'm going to be on the first bus to go and say hello. (Also, how is The Fourth Kind? I've been curious about it and heard it's kind of like a sci-fi Paranormal Activity, which I enjoyed.)

I haven't seen Paranormal Activity so I can't compare, but I've always considered The Fourth Kind to be towards the sucky end of the movie scale. I watched it the first time it was on cable out of curiosity, and most of its entertainment value came from the "how do you explain that" angle. But once you know the entire thing is fiction — the "real" video is staged — there isn't much story there.

Depends on the day! Some days I see aliens as a fact of life - other days I think it's 100% BS. I'm sure that's no help, but maybe there are others like me out there!

I seriously believe the universe is teeming with life. As Carl Segan would say...Billions and Billions of planets with life, even if life only existed on the tiniest fragment of a percent of the planets. However, the distances are SO, SO great, that even if you master going MUCH faster then the speed of light, you are NOT "zipping around the universe"...or even to many stars. Fact is, we may NEVER run into another sentient species and doubtful they will ever find us either. Our first radio signals still have millions of years to reach even any great cluster of nearby stars!!!! (and the universe keeps spreading us all farther apart!)

I'll have to check it out sometime. Of course I know it's staged (though I have met people who still think The Blair Witch Project is real), but that in and of itself wouldn't detract for me. My guess is that The Fourth Kind would either be flat-out bad, or bad enough to enjoy.

I think it's ignorant to believe we're the only planet in the entire universe that can sustain life, so I do believe in aliens. I don't, however, believe they come visit us and steal shit

I definitely think aliens are real. It's kind of silly to think that in the entire universe, we are the only species that exist. I don't think all aliens are malevolent....after all if they were all mean wouldn't they of taken over our world by now?

I think "aliens" more closely resemble bacteria and molecules, plants maybe on other planets. Not green aliens advanced enough to come to Earth.

At times I do believe there are aliens out there and I usually believe this after I've see a alien movie. LOL. I think people who tell alien abduction stories are strange. It's hard to know for sure if they are telling the truth or are crazy. Lol.

I'm with you. The universe is far too large to rule out the idea at other life exists, but it's silly to assume there are green beings out there out to probe us.

Well.....umm.....

Not really, but I did watch this Unsolved Mystery once where these men were supposedly abducted and were then put in seperate rooms with a hypnotist and all came out reporting the same things. It inclduded a "real recording" of the men's testimonies. Ever since then, I been able to wonder, but not really, I don't really believe in it. I guess that story really made me think. I mean, it seemed SOO real. Could they have made it all up? For publicity? I really can't be sure.

I believe that aliens exist. Be it the kind in a flying saucer or some bacteria on the other side of the universe.

However, I don't think the majority of abductions are real. There are a select few that I think 'something' happened to, but I don't think they were actually abducted by aliens and that such is filling in the spots that they can't understand/remember/et c.
