Yes, this can be very frustrating. I usually will give to small, local charities that are run by people who are passionate about what they do. They are a lot more likely to put the money where it needs to go and not try to turn a profit.

I don't donate money, but the homeless shelter in the area does pickups every so often of clothes, shoes, toys, etc. Whatever I have that I'm getting rid of that isn't actual trash, I collect until I have enough to put out for a pickup day. I recently cleared out my closet and got rid of a lot of stuffed animals. They are currently sitting in a big garbage bag until I get a pickup slip.

I would but I'm already broke myself. Also, I know people who are practically homeless so if I had the money for charity I would probably be helping them out before I donated anything.

I donate to The Puppy Rescue Mission mostly if I do. They help soldiers from Afghanistan get the dogs they meet there to America to either be with them or be adopted by someone so that the soldiers don't have to leave them behind to die. And I usually just donate a dollar. I know it's not a lot, but if everyone donated a dollar when they could, it'd really add up.

A lot of religions donate 10% back to God, my does too. As a community of human beings we should donate to whatever cause touches our heart. I donate to environmental causes( not a lot to many), World Relief Refugee, and Hands Across the Sea( which supports Caribbean Libraries!)

I give spare change and stuff, but otherwise no. I'd probably be more charitable if taxes were lower and the government didn't already redistribute from one group of people to another.

I haven't really donated to a big charity yet...but I have bought homeless people Subway which I then saw them share it with other homeless people.
