I'm wondering how you all feel about having sex while a friend or family member is staying the night at your home (assuming they wouldn't be involved in the sex part!). Is it rude to have sex when someone else is in the house? Does it matter if they are friends or family members?

For the purposes of this poll, let's assume this is a short visit of a night or two, not a live-in situation.

I would have sex in my own home, no matter who was there, as long as I was either very quiet or positive that they were far enough not to hear.

Other. Grown children LIVE in my home, so we can't very well not have sex. We don't on the rare occasion that my mother is here. EW.

When we have overnight guests I usually prefer not to. (We don't have overnight guests as often as we used to, but especially around the Holidays, I don't like people driving while under the influence, so we usually request people stay. We had one friend, years ago, whom my husband would take the keys from as soon as he arrived, as he had no ability to say, "Enough.") I can't relax if I know someone might hear, and I think it's a bit rude. If it's only one night, we can wait until they go home. Sometimes My Man wants a quickie (he doesn't have the understanding, sometimes of what is socially appropriate) and I'll just have the quickie, but not attempt an orgasm. I make a LOT of noise, and I just think it would be rude.

Our friends have a pretty good idea we are sex maniacs, I don't need to illustrate it for them.

Yeah I understand if people LIVE with you it is a different situation... I was just talking about short visits

I voted other because while I've never had sex with another person, I have had sex with myself in a friend's guest room and bathroom. Only once each place. And it was to titillate someone else I was texting at the time. hehe

I live with my parents, so I don't have sex at home unless they are away. My partner lives with a bunch of his friends, so there's usually someone else in the house. If I lived by myself and somebody came just for the night, I would probably skip sex for that night.

My fiance and I live with my mom, so not having sex because she's there isn't really an option. She understands that we're adults and so long as we're respectful about the fact that other people might be home, it's not a problem.

My guest room is not too far away from my room. I, like P'Gell, don't think I could relax and enjoy myself. I would rather just wait until my guests are gone. I have pretty much the same policy when visiting someone else.

Wow I'm really surprised at how spread the poll results are! I'm curious though if people find it rude, inappropriate, etc to have sex when temporary guests are in your home. Keep sharing your thoughts!

If I am at home and no one is sleeping in my bedroom but my partner (which ever home I am currently in) then I have no problem having sex regardless of my current houseguest. Anyone who stays the night at my house knows I am a sexual person, the three kids kinda gives it away, but I might tone down the moaning.

How kinky! That's one I've never done though I did have solo sex in some rather interesting places...just never had anyone telling me what to do and stuff. That would add a really interesting twist to the whole 'sordid' affair.

This is more of an issue for me when staying with family or friends. We do have sex but try to be discreet. Recently in the am, our host said "you guys look great", with a knowing tone but what the hell!!.

We don't let overnight guests stop us from having some fun! We just take precautions. I'll start up some laundry (the laundry room is right outside of our bedroom), turn up the air conditioner, and of course shut and lock the door.

It really depends whats going on theres only a few people.....

Basicly the girls who I served with over in Iraq are very close to me and lets just say when you spend time in the desert with eachother you realy dont care what they know about you. You talk about sex, you know they do it.
