Oh gosh I hold doors open every day I go out It is just me if a person is coming up to a door while I am coming out or even approaching I instantly try to help I always try to help anyone if it is needed

I'm female and I hold doors open for everyone. It's polite. I'm actually usually the one who ends up holding the door open and having to stand there for a while because everyone takes advantage of it and I feel bad to just let it go.

I always hold doors, and try to generally show respect to the people around me. I grew up in a small town and most people generally operated this way. But, now that I have lived in Philly for almost half of my life... it's quite the opposite here. Sometimes I think being polite to people here actually offends them.

I try to hold doors open for anyone. I didn't select the "i hold doors open for women" when I voted because it doesn't matter to me if its a man or a woman. I just try to be polite.

I hold the door open for people every chance I get. Every time there is someone walking in behind me. Or even if thy are feet away, I'll hold it open and waitfor them to walk in. I always appreciate when people do it for me but I only do it because I like to do little things for people. There could be someone having a bad day and small little gestures like holding a door for them or even smiling at them can bring even just a little bit of light to there day. I know it makes ME feel good when I see this in others.

I hold doors for pretty much everyone, it's just the polite thing to do.
It's not like taking a few trivial seconds out of your day to be nice to someone is going to kill you or anything (barring some freak accident, of course).
A lot of people here seem to be the door holding sort, it always makes me smile when I see considerate people like that. =^.^=

I think its rude not to hold the door open for someone especially if they are carrying something. I think at some point your like how long do I hold it open like distance from stand point. I always say if there is enough time for the door to close and you be a good distance away from it and it wont shut in the person face, you dnt have to hold it.
