My partner's grandfather who actually passed away just this morning! We have some AMAZING (and creepy) areas around here where the war went on and houses that are still standing. We frequent them on our "ghost hunts" lol. Just me, my mom, aunt and my partner. We like that sort of thing and have A LOT of really in-depth knowledge about it in our area. It's crazy how little people here know about the battlegrounds!

My father was deployed to Turkey during the Cold War of 1963-1966. He was injured over there and sent back to the states. He is getting no help from our VA organization, his records were destroyed in the fire of 1973. Pretty sad that you can almost die for our country and not have any help from a veterans organization.

I work with vets on recording narratives of their experience serving in wartime, so I know many, many people who've been to war. I don't have permission to tell their stories, unfortunately.

My brother in law, and about three really good friends of mine are over across seas right now.

One of my daughter's paternal uncles was stationed in Iraq twice. We set up a webcam so that we could all see him and talk to him.
