Some places offering fountain drinks (soda/pop/coke/sodapop ... sorry if I left out your regionalism!) offer an optional "flavor shot."

This is just what it sounds like - a little burst of extra sugar and flavor in your carbonated drink!

You could make a whole new soda!

Lemon, cherry, vanilla, berry, orange...
anything from a berry-lime 7-Up to a lemon orange soda to a vanilla cherry coke!

What do you think? Are you a traditionalist? Do you like to experiment?

There was some fast food restaurant we went to out of town - totally don't remember the name of it, but they had all of these really funky flavors out of the machine. Raspberry, lime or lemon in regular Coke is good!

I drink cherry sprite or 7 up with the flavor shots in them. Also, coke with vanilla or cherry. I never did understand the chocolate shots in the coke though.

They have machines called Coca Cola Freestyles here where you pick the soda and then add a flavor. I LOVE strawberry sprite zero!!

I only drink diet soda, and only pick the sugar-free options for the flavors. Some of the ones I've tried are ok, but mostly they don't taste right to me. Maybe I'm just picking the wrong combinations.

I hate it!!! They are normally out of the plain flavors I like. Also Wendy's used to have local sodas till they got one of those awful machines, and now they don't have the local sodas. Therefore no reason to go back there!!! We have better chicken and burger joints.

Our local Burger King has that Freestyle touch screen soda fountain...people usually stare at the screen, and don't know what to do with it! LOL

The flavors are a nice change from the usual routine.
