Contributor: Daniel & Brittany Daniel & Brittany
I saw a post and it made me think of this...I know i was young during the 90's and maybe thats why but i miss those days. Anyone else miss the incredibly long list of things swept away when the year 2000 rolled around?

No. I was a teenager during the time and I hated it - being a teenager is hard enough, but when all you have to turn to are anti-heroes, grunge music, Aaron Spelling productions, and deconstructed fashion, I felt I was in hell. The lack of optimism and the peak of glorifying yuppie-hood along with the introduction of SUV's was the least fun decade of my life.

Was I too vague?

There was some good music from then...but I guess it's a personal preference.

I don't miss having to pick Word or Works.

I don't miss having to buy a whole CD for one or two songs.

I don't miss rewinding and flipping the cassette.

I don't miss the quality of VHS tapes.

I don't miss 14.4 modems.

I do miss Beavis and Butthead, Ren & Stimpy, and Daria.

I do miss new episodes of ST:tNG, DS9, and Voyager.

I do miss how cool the X-Files were.

I do miss Crystal Pepsi.

I'm so with you on Daria, the X-Files, and Crystal Pepsi. I also miss being able to wear tights with shorts and a sweatshirt or a spaghetti strap dress with Doc Martens and my beloved mellow 90's rock (the Wallflowers, etc.). I also liked NOT being in touch with everyone, all the time, via blackberry and laptop. I miss the solace of pre-instant-gratificat ion-technology.

But I do not miss dance music, VHS, dial up modems, or quite frankly, high school (Class of 2000).

I miss it when Friends was still new, nickelodeon, LEGO, being a child, I was under 11 in the nineties. This also means I wasn't aware of my sexuality so I guess considering that, it's better now!

No. Not really. We had 3 young children. Miss the innocence and the closeness, but after a few rough years, they have all actually turned into lovely young adults!
I am with Tori Rebel on NOT missing being instantly in touch with people.

I don't miss VHS tapes, having to rewind and flip cassette tapes, or dial up internet. I do miss listening to the radio all day just to catch my favorite songs and record them onto a mix tape, but I don't miss the agony of somebody else accidentally recording over my mix tape. I miss when Nickelodeon had great shows that weren't miniature versions of the dramas adults watch, and I miss Cartoon Network playing only cartoons. There's more, I know, I just can't think of it right now.

I'm with you on most of this stuff, especially the tapes and modems. Now, I stream the X-Files with Netflix, and they are still pretty cool.

I DO miss talking with my daughter. Now all we do is text, email or FB each other. I really miss the sound of her voice that is in person, not over the phone. (She moved 1500 miles away. ) But now I guess I'm showing my advanced years. Heck, I remember the (GASP) '60's and '70's. Well, some of it anyhow.

Peace Out, Man!

I wish I could go back in time to then, I'd have my oldest son back with me. He passed away in 2007

I miss the 90's a lot. It was a time of my youth and good times. I miss having the people in my life that have passed away over the last ten years.

We had small children, and while it was sometimes a wonderful time, it was quite stressful. Lack of sleep, lots of illness, losing friends who didn't have children and didn't understand our dedication to them ("No, we can't leave them for a long weekend. They're babies. They need US more than we need a weekend away." Some people just didn't get that we were PARENTS and not just accidentally breeding.) We also had very little time for each other (My Man and I) etc. I loved raising small children, but it's over and I'm ready to move on.

I don't miss dial up internet, though.

I heard that too...dunno if it'll be the same. Instead of Mtv (which doesn't exist as it once did), they'll be watching YouTube or something

I don't think I'd want to go back to the 90s. It wasn't all that great for me

The nineties were my high school and college years. Yep, I miss them; I'd live them all over again if I could.

Absolutely not. Just thinking about the 90's makes me cringe
