self check outs are much faster

It depends on what I'm buying (if I'm buying something embarrassing I prefer self-check out) and whether I'm in a hurry or not.

I like using self-checkout because there usually isn't a wait and there is a limited # of items you can buy so don't get stuck behind people with a lot of items. However, I do like the human interaction and want to support their jobs. Also, if I have coupons or price comparisons I will definitely go to a human cashier.

Ditto!

Self check. I like to bag my things a certain way in re-useable bags and i prefer to do that myself.

A lot of our stores took the self checkout out of the stores. Sometimes I wish they still existed

Self-checkout is really rare here. I use it if I don't have a lot of stuff, but if I have tons and tons of stuff to buy, then I go to a cashier

I prefer a real person, except when I'm in a hurry with only a few items. I honestly wish that Walmart would introduce self-check out for when I pop in for lunch during the day and I have to wait for 10-20 mins just to cash out.

As long as the cashier isn't a total bitch or asshole (yes,I've had it happen), then I prefer going to a cashier.
The self check out is nice for a quick run to the store for a couple items though.

I understand people have grumpy days and all, but if I get attitude from a certain person more than a few times, I avoid their register like the plague.
Luckily, the only really bitchy cashiers we've encountered up here are a couple of the Wal-Mart ones.

The local grocery store staff are generally really nice. c:
