No, I'm not comfortable bringing used stuff into my house.
I have the same problem. I have really bad allergies & sensitivities & have to be careful about anything I bring into my house. (The cats I can't live without, so even though I'm allergic to them, I just deal with it.)
But, if I can find some solid wood furniture or other furnishings, jewelry, etc, then we're in business. But I don't shop often, except online, so I don't get to see many thrift stores. I think to find the good stuff, you need plenty of time & perseverance when thrift shopping.
I also don't think thrift store necessarily has to mean used, does it? We have thrift stores that are just super discounted new items. Maybe in different places that's not the case.
I consider consignment stores to be in the thrift category.
