I usually try to find things on Etsy, but some of the prices are outregous! My wife and I were looking for some neck wraps for a spa party she is having for the girls (all EF items lol) and she wanted to get all the girls neck wraps. They want at LEAST $20 a piece for these things! They cost less than $10 to make for pete sakes! I dunno, some of the things I have found on there were reasonable, but some are just craziness.

My wife has a store up on Etsy for her Polymer clay jewelry supplies, but she hasn't had one bite of a sale so she is bummin

You've got to factor in the time spent creating the neck wraps.

I'm thinking of selling on Etsy--I've made chainmail vests. The vest materials cost me almost nothing, but I spent about 11 hours putting it together. So if i charge about minimum wage, it comes out to about 100$. Plus Etsy charges a fee for using their services.

((thus I'm still deciding if I want to sell on Etsy or not))

I love Etsy! (Have it open on a different tab right now, actually.) Most of the products are pricier, but I feel it's expected and justifiable for most stores. I've been pretty happy with the quality of the things that I've bought off of it.

I always think about how long it takes someone to make it, not material cost.

Lots of people UNDERcharge (and you know, mass production and factories) and make it harder for everyone else to get a living wage - let alone the skilled one they deserve.

If you can make something for $3 and would prefer to spend your own several hours making it - do that instead.

I check etsy when I'm looking for something highly specific that could either be handmade or vintage. It's like going to a virtual craft fair or flea market.

I find Etsy to be so expensive...I can't find anything that I really want that's cheap. I would rather just go to Ebay where there is a lot of outsourcing to China that the prices remain extra cheap.

I absolutely love Etsy and I use it a lot of time for finding nice handmade presents for people! And I use Etsy to buy yarn... If you know what you're looking for, you can usually find the items on the cheaper end of things.

I love Etsy. I used to have a shop where I made purses but I got too tired of the demands. I really do love to shop there though. I think I've learned my way around the shops with high prices.

I do, but I am very selective sometimes. I've found vintage purses for cheap as well as lots of things I love. If it's something I have confidence I can make, I will. I really love the lego jewelry, but why pay $10+ for a necklace I can make for less than $5? So I made it, everyone at work loved it so I sold a few for $7 with the extra supplies I ordered. I have a pair of lego earrings in every color lego they make and I get compliments all the time on them. If only people knew, supply shops sell 100 packs of stainless steel earring posts for like $3, the lego parts are a few cents each, so I made myself a lot of jewelry for cheap, and I've given them as gifts too.

I love browsing etsy, but I've never bought anything. Normally if I see something I like I know I can make it for cheaper than they're asking, so I just do it myself.

I love Etsy, even if I don't shop there all the time. It's got a great selection of stuff, and while some of it is overpriced it's got a huge range and I've never been dissatisfied with a product I got from a shop.
