I heard a discussion about this once on my usual morning radio show and was appalled that anyone would stand to wipe. (I'm a sitter.)

Your statement about sitters being shocked about standers and vice versa is totally true. Standing has always been easier and more accessible for me.

I have only stood a handleful of times. I had no idea people do it regularly. I guess standers stand cuz thats how they were taught.

I have seen this question asked before (on another forum). We had pretty much decided that it's mostly men that stand, because their balls get in the way while sitting
I do remember standing when I was a kid though. My friend asked what I was doing, and told me it was strange. I don't think I have wiped standing ever since then.
