Does Anybody Else "Stock Up" on Toys?

Contributor: Alan & Michele Alan & Michele
Alan & I have fallen into this strange habit over the past few years of trying to collect two of each of our favorite toys. That way if one goes out, we'll have another in case they get discontinued. Does anyone else stock up on toys?

Absolutely. That's how I feel about my clear ribbed G-spot wonder. I'm considering ordering a second one. I couldn't handle it if something happened to mine. When I'm washing it I make sure to hold it with two hands to make certain I don't drop it -again.

I would definitely buy another Evolved Opus if it died. I'm addcited to that vibrator.

Michele means, would you buy one before yours died to make sure you always have one.

No, I've never done this..

I've thought about it with some of the toys I LOVE, but I have not done this considering most of my toys are dildos that should not die out or break... hopefully

I don't think I'd do this unless it was a toy that I know would die. But then again, I think I'd only for it for cheap toys, mostly vibes.

I haven't but I can see myself doing it if I felt my favorite was in danger of aging or being ruined. It would have to be one of my favorites and be showing signs of nearing the end of it's life though. I did just recently toss out all of my old jelly and rubber toys because they were very old and degraded and upgraded to a few new silicone toys. Now I think I'll start collecting the quality stuff.

Yeah, for us it's vibrators and penis sleeves. I figure even the highest quality vibes have got to burn their little motors out eventually.

My boyfriend and I are guilty of buying a second Swirled G. It's his favorite toy for P spot stimulation and my favorite glass dildo.

I wouldn't stock up on toys, but if a favorite of mine died, I might consider buying another one at that time. I don't have money to buy two to begin with.

I don't stock up on duplicates, but I do wait and get stuff when it's on sale. There are some vibes I would definitely replace if/when they break, but I'm willing to take the risk of them being discontinued over spending the money twice upfront.

I haven't but I have one of my very favorites that I can't find anymore that's dying on me so I wish I had!

I don't stock up on them, there are a few though that if I heard they were being discontinued I might buy a spare.

I usually just take my chances on buying a new one. So far, none have been DC'd.

I guess I'm not that compulsive to buy a back-up. For me storage is already a problem so doubling up?? Way too much!
If a toy dies and I really liked it, I will purchase another. But also, there is always something new and so many times better so I would investigate new models.

The toy would have to be amazing for me to do that. After a while I'll get tired of whatever I own and want something different. Once its dead I'll just throw it away and move on to a new item.

Nope. It's never really occurred to me to do so. But I supposed I would buy a back up if one I loved was being discontinued.

I stock up on the less expensive stuff that I love that doesn't have good warranty programs.

I've seriously thought about getting an other Wahl, because I don't think I could wait for one to come in the mail if mine died.

My Man and I saw one at a local electronics store, and had an adolescent fit of laughter in the store. We need to grow up.

I don't get back-ups for my toys. I'd rather buy a new and improved toy if one of my favorites die on me. Besides, the materials of my toys are durable.

It depends on the toy. I'd break the bank if I got two of toys like the Cone (a favorite for 2 years and running), but if it's not crazy expensive and/or I could use more than one at a time, I could see myself buying a backup. I do have two Hitachis. For the most part, I'd rather save my money and try something new.

I have not bought multiple anything- yet. I so think that the dildo companies continue to improve upon their creations- from realism, to material and features.

Plus, not sure how they will store- for instances, do you not open it at all? Do they have expiration dates so to speak?

I've only done this once. When I found my favorite bullet, I didn't want it to die and be without it, so I ordered 3 more just in case.

We open them long enough to make sure they work, then just store them in their original packages. We don't do this with very many toys though. My original post probably made it sound like we have dozens of spares laying around .

We don't, but I've mentioned it a few times. We are in and out of love with new toys so often that I guess it doesn't make much sense for us to do that right now. I'm sure we'll get there though!

I never have done this, but I do have some toys I would replace if they broke.
