I like pies with perfect pastry (flaky and golden). Most pies I have had, however, fall short of my standards, so I will usually save myself the disappointment and have cheesecake or something else instead.
I did hate pie until a couple years ago when I decided I was going to make blueberry pie. I hated pie. I had never made blueberry pie. I had never made pie crust. I had never even -had- blueberry pie. But I wanted it. So I made it. And I loved it.
But even then, I hate most pie if it's not made up to my standards. It's the crust I have issues with. The filling itself is usually fine, but the crust is so gross most often.
