I like the bigger ones. Although my daughter got a Chihuahua (guess who he took to). The damn thing thinks he belongs to me and won’t have anything to do with her. Surprisingly he doesn't bark as bad as most small dogs do, little ankle bitter only bit me once.

I prefer a medium to large dog, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for small dogs (though I would not like to own one).

Medium! Small dogs are too little and I feel like I'll step on them, big big dogs take up too much space! Of course, my ideal dog is the Peruvian Inca Orchid hairless, medium sized dog. CUTEST THINGS IN THE WORLD.

I love almost all dogs. I prefer big dogs sometimes and other times small to medium. Right now I have a 47 lb. rotti/shepherd/somethi ng mix and 2 Bichon Frises. Big dogs are good for running with and protection, but little dogs are cheaper, easier to board, and can be taken more places usually. Pluses to both.

I've had both small and large dogs, and for the most part I think breed matters more. However, while large dogs can make good protectors (and can walk/run around with you more than a tiny dog) they take a lot more work to restrain if something goes wrong. My lab was hit by a car a few years ago, and trying to keep him calm and restrained on the way to the vet was no picnic. If I lived alone, I wouldn't take on a dog that I couldn't comfortably lift and carry.

I have one of each. Overall, I think bigger dogs are prettier. Medium dogs are the easiest to care for in my opinion. Small dogs are better for smaller houses and apartments, and for when you want something small enough to sleep on your lap.
I like cats better though. So it's not that I don't really like dogs, I just would prefer a kitty. I want something easier to care for

I love ALL dogs! Dogs make my heart sing!!!! If I was picking a dog, I would go for a BIG dog. The dog my heart is set on, can get up to 260 pounds!! That's a big boy!

If I had to pick big or small, I would go with big just because the tiny ones run under your feet and I don't want to hurt them, but since you have medium as a choice I went with that.
