Everyone knocks who doesn't know us well. Our doorbell is hard to see. Most friends walk in.

Doesn't matter to me. Dinging loudly kinda gets on my nerves. Lol. Either one will be fine for me though. Most people just knock.

I HATE people knocking on our door - don't they know what a doorbell is??? Loud and rapid knocking sound annoys the heck out of me.

I agree, it's mostly done by delivery men for some reason.

If they knocked, we didn't hear it, so chances are they use the doorbell.

The house I grew up in had a button for the doorbell, but it didn't work, so everyone would knock after they figured that out. =P The place I'm in now doesn't have a doorbell. But I'm in a 4-family flat so the front door is separate from my front door, so people usually just call me when they're outside.

We don't have a doorbell (at least, I don't think we do), so strangers knock and friends call-out as they walk in.

Knock. We don't have a doorbell. Even when I lived elsewhere and we had a doorbell, people for some reason always knocked and then wondered why we couldn't hear them.

Although I really wouldn't mind if they did just walk in as long as they were prepared for whatever they might see!

Most people just knock, since our doorbell doesn't really stand out. I'd be horrified if someone just walked in. In fact, we keep the doors locked most of the time, even when we're at home.

Both - but our door bell is broken. Turns out people who use the door bell aren't people we want to meet with, anyway. And there's always somebody who notices if people come to the door - usually the dogs.

As a consequence of not having a working door bell, I knock on other people's doors. Although my friends always know it's me ... KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK "Jason!" KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK "Jason!" KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK "Jason!"
