Wow! You have a rooster and hens! That's awesome! I really would like to have chickens someday. I'll have to think about getting a rooster to protect the hens like you said.

They really are fun to have, they are fun to watch, keep the bugs/insects down and are fairly cheap to feed. For a bag of feed, to feed the four of them, it costs about $13 and it will last about seven weeks in the winter ten or twelve in the summer. Fresh eggs are nice to.

Calico is actually a description of the coat color. A cat with orange, black, and white is considered calico, no matter how much of each color is present. Most non-purebred cats are classified as domestic short hair or domestic long hair, depending on hair length. This is basically the equivalent of calling the cat a mutt.

Warning: Incoming stupid animal fact. Calicos and tortoise shells (orange and black coat) are almost always female because the color genes are on the X chromosome.

Yeah, I'll admit, I want the fresh eggs. That is really cheap feed! Eggs and cute chickens for $2 a week? Yes, please!

Thanks. The Malamute has got to be the dumbest dog we have ever owned. Maybe it's his expression, (his huge tongue is always hanging out of the SIDE of his mouth) or the fact that he just stares at you. Since we had his balls cut off, his life revolves around food and sleeping. He knows more commands than the Lab (who are supposed to be people pleasers, but she was a Little Street Dog and pretends she doesn't know what we are talking about) We've had female Malamutes and they were really smart. He just drools, and "WOOOOOO"s at you, and when he lies around the house, he lies AROUND the house. He's huge.

They love each other so much.

I pick up my new little boy tomorrow morning - can't wait. I'll have more pictures in time.
He is a pure bred German Sheperd and is almost 10 weeks old.

Answer about my dog's name:

The girl at the pet store (where my mother was getting her fish) totally freaked in happiness when she overheard that my dog's name is Voldemort. I named him that because he had a similar beginning - his mommy was inbred, he wasn't supposed to be born, and he's a terror. It's funny for him to have that name because he's a fou-fou dog.

They are all soooo cute! I can't figure out how to add pics of my baby. His name is Luke and he's a 4 year old lab/shepard mutt. He's the best snuggle buddy, even though he hogs the bed and most of my covers.

Yay! I love to show off my babies!

This is Gus! He is the newest addition to our family. I wish I could get a good picture of his paws because they are double front and back. They look like little snowshoes. He loves to hang out in bags and its a wonder I haven't taken him to class with me.

And this is Andi! She is a three year old Beagle. Anytime we leave the house she hangs out the window like this, I think she likes to make us feel guilty for not taking her.

Ok. This isn't one of mine, but I couldn't resist.

I'll add some pix of my actual cats when I'm less tired. While you wait, I'll tell you of some endearing quirks of my flame point siamese:
-He loves my husband's shoes. (but not mine and not my son's)
-He loves my husband's gym bag, esp. right after he's returned from the gym.
He treats both of these items as though they are made of catnip, rubbing himself all over them. If given the chance he will jump inside the gym bag and sleep.

I have a friend with a huge black dog (don't know breed) named:

Sirius Black

Unfortunately, my husband is allergic to both cats and dogs (even the "hypo" ones) and my daughter is so allergic to some dogs that she breaks out in hives.

I so want one though.

Shellz31, your puppy is adorable. You can keep posting pictures so we can see him grow up.

Tuesday, that is too funny. It reminds me of my cat opening the bathroom door to be with me.

Haha my cat does the same thing! He gets in my husbands work bag, my school bag etc. I like to say he didn't stay in the womb long enough.
