I just got a cake as a gift. It had WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING, from Publix on it. I believe this is my absolute favorite (on chocolate cake)..YUM.

How about YOUR favorite frosting???

I don't really like frosting.

But with carrot cake... CREAM CHEESE frosting is amazing.

Suggestion. Try making a great German Chocolate cake...Dunken Hinze makes a good one. Then cut the cake into four parts and frost each different....even with CANNED frosting. Try WHITE, DARK CHOCOLATE, COCONUT, and something else, maybe even like STRAWBERRY. You will find that you have created FOUR completely different dessert.

It depends on the flavor of the cake. German Choc with Pecan frosting tops the list though.

It depends on the cake... German chocolate cake needs coconut frosting. Carrot cake needs cream cheese frosting.

It has to be buttercream, I HATE whipped. I like chocolate, vanilla and cream cheese.

If I can, when I bake I often will cover cup cakes and bundt cakes with only powdered sugar.

However, I do like chocolate fudge frosting. The darker the better.

I do NOT like whipped cream or cream cheese frosting. No dairy for me. Allergies.

My fave icing is cream cheese and it goes best on red velvet cake. I also enjoy Italian cream cake it has the cream cheese and pecans. There are many times I will make the cake using a box mix, but homemade icing is the best!
