Since writing reviews, I have learnt a number of langauge differences.
Shellz, years ago, what are now flip flops used to be called "thongs." But, that was (mumbles....20....30 years ago.) Weird, huh? You can get them now at the Dollar Store for a buck or two, or pay upwards of $50.00 for leather ones. There are also some that have a ring around the toe, but those are considered "hippy shoes" by a lot of people.
What the heck are "stubby shorts" and "singlets?" Singlets, in the USA used to be a sleeveless T Shirt worn by babies
! But, they are just called "sleeveless T Shirts" now.
I LOVE hearing different dialects of English. It's so interesting.
