For those of you with blogs, which do you like better?

Contributor: LucyLemonade LucyLemonade
I started out with a blogger account, and then changed over to wordpress, but I'm considering switching back to blogger. I was curious what everyone likes the best?

Well, I use Blogger. I didn't vote because that's all I've ever used, so I don't know if there's a better platform out there. I'm curious as to why you're thinking about switching because people tell me Wordpress is better and that I should be using it instead.

It feels like wordpress isn't as customizable as blogger. I do like the dashboard with stats and such though.

I haven't tried blogger yet. All my blogs are with wordpress.. hmm.. you make switching over sound intriguing but I understand blogger doesn't like adult sites

I haven't tried wordpress yet. I thought they didn't like adult sites, so that's why I picked blogger.

I didn't vote as I haven't really blogged enough on either to know--but so far Wordpress isn't bad and doesn't seem too different from blogger (from what experience I had with it before). I do like all the widgets, themes, and stats counting they do for you though.

They are both great tools and I like them both a lot, but I prefer wordpress a little more since more people use it.

I started blogging on livejournal, way back when!

I do have a blogger account under another name, but I don't use it. Overall I prefer wordpress, I find it a bit more versatile and streamlined. And I do love the wordpress independent install, though I don't have one of my own set up at the moment.

Wordpress is great! Even their own free service is fantastic. It's nearly identical to the self hosted one. It's really come a long way. If you're not super technical, signing up for a free account and then linking it to a domain is awesome!

I would say the only thing to watch out for (and this is from many, many years of blogging and trying nearly every platform out there) is if you're going to have an adult blog, sometimes it's better to pay and host it yourself and not use the free service. I've heard so many horror stories of people getting their blogs deleted because people complained about the content and if you're on someone else's space.. it can be tricky. At least in your own blog, you can be the boss

I'm quite familiar with blogger and just know very little about wordpress.

I think wordpress is a little more difficult to get used to and it does not allow embedding some stuff (like eden videos). You will not have this problem if you install wordpress at your own webspace.
