Fun Parties by Eden Possibly?

Contributor: VieuxCarre VieuxCarre
I have many friends who are getting married, in the BDSM lifestyle, or are just looking to explore or expand their toy collections. I was reading through the off-site guidelines and read something about selling to people via other forms that aren't the internet. And then I had a thought.

I know that Eden just launched the personal stores program (I'm still working on getting mine up and running. I'm a perfectionist sorry!), but I was thinking that it would be pretty interesting if we could possibly obtain some of the selection from our store to sell to others at bachelorette parties, etc.

It was a thought and all of the proceeds would go to Eden and we could possibly get the same commission off of what we sell offline as we would online through our personal stores.

I think it'd be a fun idea. If this is already in action, please let me know. If not, I want to know what you all think of this. I think it would be a great networking thing and could possibly gather new followers and reviewers to Eden!

I'd personally love this too.

There was another thread about sex toy parties about a year ago link. I think there's a lot of potential in the idea, myself Hooking it up to the personal stores would make it even more awesome!

Fascinations has the home party option. I have to be honest, though. At the last party I did, 2 of the women wanted Rabbit Habits, but Fascinations doesn't sell those, so I had the ladies order them from here.

I had this idea a while ago too and just never said anything. I'm glad you brought it up! I hope that, in the future, Eden might expand and launch some type of program similar to this. I think having the ability to host EF Adult Parties would be a great way to bring in more revenue, and spread the word about this awesome retailer. Thank you for mentioning this!

Also, just realized that this may not be listed under the appropriate section.
Perhaps it would be better received and noticed over in EF suggestions?

You know, I've never been to one of those parties. Do they do really well?

I have mixed feelings about the parties. I don't actively seek people to host them, but if somebody contacts me about scheduling a party I happily do it because I average around $400-$500 in sales for just a few hours of my time.

I don't know about the other "romance" home parties, as I've never been to one, and probably would not go. The companies I looked into sell predominantly crappy products, with only a handful of quality ones, that are overpriced. I'm a snob when it comes to sex toy materials, packaging, functions, etc. I want the good gear, because I'm actually going to use it and want it to last. I'm not just buying something for the novelty value or as a gag gift. Also, there is a lack of educational, sex-positive information on most of those company websites, so I don't have much confidence that the consultants are all that knowledgeable.

Please keep in mind that I live in the Bible Belt, where most people think porn and masturbation are sinful, using a vibrator is cheating and/or unnatural, and you'll fry in hell forever if you so much as think about sex or any of the above. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a wee bit, but that's pretty much the attitude around here.

My first real knowledge about sex toys came by way of a party hosted by a friend. The selection was rather basic, overpriced and with too many jelly type toys. But then, all I could afford was some beads anyway.

It all depends on how many people show up at the party and how comfortable the sales woman can make them feel about buying products. I've been to some that were really fun and had great consultants and I've been to some that had a handful of people show up with a very new consultant who didn't know what she was doing.

It's not a problem. I've been wanting to do fun parties for a while now but haven't found a company with truly safe products. I figured I'd bring it up because, well, I know Eden and the stuff they sell

I'm glad I mentioned it. Seems like it's a topic of interest

I agree. It depends on the crowd you're selling to as well. Of course you'll have people interested and, quite frankly, I think that we'd all make excellent sales people. That's just my opinion, though.

Oh wow, that's rough to live there. And I understand where you're coming from with the other companies that do the fun parties. Honestly, I've looked into kits from other places and they've got products that are harmful to the body like "tightening lubricant" and such.

I'm a snob with materials, too. You're not alone.

A thought crossed my mind when you mentioned overpriced toys and products. I think it'd be nifty if we could offer the 15% discount as well to customers if the parties ever fabricated. Would a discount at the party you went to have influenced you to possibly consider purchasing more?
