I definitely believe in them...but when you say ghost do you also mean a sprit? I definitely believe that are realtives are still out there after death. After my grandmother died she came and visited me in a dream. Maybe it sounds crazy, but I believe it to be real.

I didn't think of that before I posted. Both. I just lumped them. I still have a hard time with the what the difference really is between the two. All I know is if either really are out there I don't want one to make it's self known to me, it'd freak me out for life. I'd have to sleep with a light on and never be alone =/

Well I do, and, well...

So let's say there is the seen world, and there is the unseen world, and there is a reason why we, imperfect souls can't see everything in the unseen world...
There is that thin line between the two, and when it breaks inside somebody that is insanity with fuckin weird hallucinations and stuff like that, but there are also people who naturally have the ability more than the others (as everybody has it, just for some it just happens, such stuff is learnable anyway), they are considered to be the shamans, mediums between the seen and unseen world, to help people... (Though you can't just become a shaman in an eyeblink, one has to learn a lot to become a real shaman...) The effects of psychedelic drugs, aka hallucinations and stuff like that are also to reveal some things of the unseen world, by chemically bugging your system so it changes for a few under the drugs... (That's why in countless cultures drugs have been being used forever, especially by shamans...)

So I just wanted to drop this in before anyone thinks am nuts, I do have had ghost experiences in quite several times years ago, for the few first times it was equal with sheer terror for me, but after a while I got used to it, it was still freaky as hell though... Then I got fed up because looks like I couldn't communicate with the spirit visiting me like it would have been ideal, so I just asked him not to visit me anymore, and indeed, nothing similar has happened ever since... (It is said that the first spirit who visits the possible shaman is the "calling spirit", to call the shaman to do his/her duty of that nature - there is a wee bit of mental imbalance in my family, I guess I inherited some of it, but at least I never considered it to be mental illness, rather that I am "special", because indeed, I have quite the sensitivity when it comes to stuff like that, energies, divination, seeing and feeling people, and what not... Don't wanna sound bigheaded as if I was bragging, though it's still better probably than to sound like an idiot... ~lol ^^ ~lays ears blushy)

So anyway, I strongly believe that souls are all over, like in the Bosch pictures, and it is a blessing that one can't see them all, people tend to think that there is nothing at all anywhere inside and around them, but them and their selfish little things, whereas everything is built up of energy, even the hardest materials - if you do some research about physics and quantum mechanics then you will find info about it!
So souls are souls, spirits are souls, ghosts are souls, we are souls, the fact that it is mostly unseen doesn't mean it doesn't exist - just ask a little creature living in the deepest levels of the ocean, what would that lil one say if you said "well yep, there is the sun, it's everywhere and you can always see it for half of the day" of course it would say "that is total bullshit, what a delusional guy, saying such ridiculous and funny things!" ^^

I think the fear of the unknown has something to do with my fear and being skeptic. I've done the whole "jump in the car with friends and go to the so called haunted house" but nothing ever came of it than us freaking ourselves out and to be honest I'm happy it went that way.
Just the stories of some that you see on these television shows where people claim to have been attacked, that is what scares me. I don't think I could handle that. I bailed on going to this mansion here in Ohio (the name has slipped my mind) but it was featured on the TAPS team came out and filmed and episode because I worry that "something" would follow me home.
To me, I feel like maybe since I'm not dead set (no pun intended) on what I believe that nothing will show itself to me, or atleast that comforts me.
I really got into the ghost shows awhile back and started freaking myself out and stopped watching them when I'm in my 20s and got scared of sleeping alone in the dark =/. I'm over that now but I have a Rosary hanging on my bed post "just in case".
So I probably sound as crazy as you think you do!

I just enjoy hearing people's stories, reading books about experiences and watching movies. Though like I said some TV shows have had me flipping the light switch on before entering a room and I've had two books creep me out enough that I slept with the TV on for a week or so lol!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! !!!!!!!!

Well I enjoy them as hell too of course, though they freak me out as much of course!!! (The last time I heard such a story (not the kind that female friend sees dead souls, I had two who totally saw them, was freaky as hell!!!) it was told by a woman who's husband died in cancer, and he kept on returning to her, so she just went to the bed cause she heard him call her, he always said that he peed under himself, asking her to help him and stuff, so she always, every Night, got the bedding all humble and servile, took it out to wash it, and when she returned he wasn't there anymore... It happened every single Night, and after a while she was so freaked out already and tired of the whole thing that she changed the bed, and that hasn't happened anymore ever since then! I believed all of it, because she was totally a very simple woman, kinda getting older, kinda poor on a retirement, and kinda alcoholic, I don't want to sound rude but she totally seemed to be not so intelligent and not so educated, I mean ya know, the people who don't even really know how to behave, they are just themselves, she had a bigbig heart though, met her once in a bar - so anyway, she was the kind of person who is rather rude and an asshole, but never lies, all straight, and I must tell the it happened with me too that I was all scared and stuff in the Dark whenever I thought of the story, it still freaks the hell out of me, blissfully W/we're still being up, lights and radio on, Master is next to me at His PC, so there is no reason to be frightened to death now... ^^ ~trembles all scared)

I'm a complete sceptic. Unless the existence of something can be proven, then I have no reason to believe in it.

Simply put, we are just an energy source wearing a bio-suit. And since energy is something that I have heard over and over stated as not being able to be created or destroyed, I have to ask the question, where does our energy go when we die? Spirit, ghost, with either or I have to believe that something like that exists. It would be really nice to have absolute proof of that before we die. Oh well, therein lies the greatest adventure ever.......death!!
Dan Brown does a nice job with his explanation of this in his latest book, The Lost Symbol. The experiment done as someone is in the process of dying, that is pretty damn imaginative and can really get you thinking. It's a fun read, and the Noetic Society talked about in the book actually exists, which makes the book even more interesting.

Being a former paranormal investigator, I'm still inconclusive on the existence of them. I only use 'ghost' as a lump-word in my records.

But I had experienced some weird shit ...

Cool stories and tales dating back 1000 years, but interestingly, not one photo, video, or recording of a clear, unquestionable "haunting". NO mass sighting or clear PROOF of a shred of "paranormal" anything. Not one.

"Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof". IN this case, I would accept the tiniest bit of CONCRETE proof.

SORT OF. I believe in LOVE..but cannot quantify or measure it.

More in the realm of science, I KNOW that dogs can SENSE things we cannot, but that is simply heightened senses...some we cannot even really appreciate.

Paranormal claims, however, are OLD as dirt and yet not ONE tiny bit of proof???? Makes it pretty hard to believe at all, if you think about it.

EVERYONE has a cell phone with camera now. Even UFO's, if real, would be showing up in THOUSANDS of CELL PHONE crystal clear photos now...but, well, they almost NEVER do. Strange, eh? And same with GHOSTS.

I'll believe it, when I see it.

Most of the time I try to stay in a scientific mindset, since I know there's usually another explanation, but I've had too many personal encounters to write off the existence of ghosts.

My most significant encounter was when I was eleven or twelve. I forget what upset me, but I was laying face-down on my bed crying into my arms when I felt someone gently but firmly rubbing my back. That went on until I calmed down a bit and looked up, then it very suddenly stopped. I'd assumed it was my mom or dad, but nobody was there, and anyone would have had to go by my head to leave the room.

Other times I've seen brief apparitions of humans and animals (which is why I firmly believe animals have souls), and sometimes I hear words being spoken very clearly - usually someone calling my name, but sometimes other things as well. I don't like looking into mirrors if it's dark or if the mirror faces a door or hallway, since I've seen things appear behind me, as well.

There are plenty of pictures and videos, as well as plenty of fakes.

The Brown Lady in England has been seen by a number of people, many people at a time, and the film and negative of her was analyzed and cannot be explained.

When you've lived with the unexplainable, you tend to be less of a doubter. We don't know everything. Until the early 20th century, gorillas were believed to be untrue, nobody had a good picture and no bodies had been brought back. We don't have conclusive proof of Dark Matter or Dark Energy, but we have circumstantial evidence, so I choose to believe in it.

Most people don't believe until they've had an experience. Sadly, some people simply aren't sensitive and would take a 3rd Kind Interaction for them to believe, if even then.

But, honestly, it makes no difference to me what other believe or not. I've experienced some very paranormal situations, I've seen ball lightening (AFAIK we don't have any photos of that either, yet we know it exists) I'm secure in the knowledge that there is more than the solid realm.

Then, there's the 24 grams that no one can explain that leaves a body as it dies. I went to a lecture given by a man from NASA, about the expanding Universe and somehow we got on the subject of the 24 grams and HE believed in it. A NASA rocket scientist. That's good enough for me.

This is The Brown Lady, considered to be good proof of a ghost. The thing is that for skeptics NO amount of proof is ever enough.

I know we are spiritual beings, except many of us don't acknowledge that. There's much more to us than just organic molecules and biochemical reactions.

Yes, I believe in spirits/ghosts. There have been many a documented case and I've experienced more than enough on my own to know better than to doubt their existence. Also, animals have great reactions to them, a little freaky but interesting.

And not-so-great reactions, at times. I remember once watching The Haunted (or whatever it's called - it's been a while) on Animal Planet and a family's two rabbits were apparently frightened to death by all the ghostly activity. Usually I love hearing about ghosts, but that made me incredibly sad.

I've seen the Brown Lady picture as well as others. I have a friend that has a supposed polaroid photo with his grandmother faded in the mirror with others sitting at a table near it. His entire family has been serious when showing it and talking about it. I just don't know, part of me can't help but think it's somehow a joke. And I admit I take comfort in being able to NOT be sure because like I said, that stuff scares me indeed.
I've heard a story of a demonic presence from my mother's friend. It's very believable. She had a priest come bless the home and started going to church regularly because of it. She is totally scared and sounds serious about it. Being raised Catholic but not going to church as I got older but still believing, it's kind of hard for me to not believe in that sort of thing. I'm so conflicted on it all lol. But I don't think people are nuts who have stories to tell that they honestly, truly experience or think they experienced. It's just so interesting to me. I like to believe there is something after death, that I will be reunited with my loved ones again some day. It puts a little ease on the whole death thing, which again is another fear of mine even though I know we're all going to go.

24grams, did not know about this. Thanks for sharing!

THIS show scared the hell outta me more than once. I usually won't watch it anymore lol. I'm such a wimp but I'll admit it. I LOVE horror movies and shows but when it comes to something like that show, things experienced by real people and not a made up screenplay, that is what creeps me out and makes me edgy at night for days. Sit me in front of any horror movie and I won't get scared. Give me a half hour of one of these shows and you may or may not scare me, depends on the story at hand.
