A friend of mine is getting married, and she's putting together the list of gifts people can give. She's not quite sure what she's forgetting-- so for all the married people out there, what gift do you still treasure/like/use a lot?

Not married yet, but I'm also in the process of putting together my registry. The most helpful tip I got was to look at all of the things you use most on a daily basis wherever you are now.
ie, your apartment or your parent's house.
On another note, I'm registered for a KitchenAid stand mixer, and I already know I'm going to use it every freakin' day!

Towels and bedding - I loved those best when I was married. And the huge Crock-Pot.
Pretty much anything in the kitchen and linen closet is game for the registry.

a kitchen aid mixer. We received the smaller model, but I do a lot of cooking, so we took it and exchanged it for the largest model. I have used the crap out of that mixer. It gets used at least 5 meals a week, plus any desserts we make.
