Has anyone else noticed that in the beginning when a girl starts to become friends with a guy they tend to pick on him (like a big sister on a little brother)?

I have noticed this about other girls.

However, I tend to be the quiet type. I keep to myself, so when I become friends with a guy, they usually pick on me.

I haven't noticed this with myself, or other girls.

I noticed this years ago and always tried not to be that type of girl. I might pick on male friends jokingly if I know them well enough. I have a tough sense of humor though and people have told me they can't tell when I'm joking, so I try to be careful.

I noticed this in high school--though it was incredibly stupid then and still do now. I do notice as people mature and get older, the head games seem to change or diminish.

I don't think it has anything to do with gender, but it is what some people do.

I have never noticed this. I usually don't do this around male friends.

We make the occasional joke, but nothing like being picked on, etc.

I've noticed this in young, teenage girls. It's usually just them being immature and not knowing how to act.

My friends pick on me when we get close regardless of gender. Just goes to show how anyone can become family I guess.

I hate it when someone tries to show they have a crush on you by doing this though.

I seen other girls do this but I tend to think more like a man and have more male friends so I would never do this and stand up for them when I hear it.
