For as long as I can remember, I've disliked most grape flavored things. To me, they mostly all taste like Dimetapp since that only came in grape flavored. At least it did when I was a kid.

I've seen a few people here and there comment about how they can't stand something grape flavored because it tastes like cold medicine to them, and then I always mentally go back to the Dimetapp, and I started to wonder how many people dislike grape flavored things. Feel free to tell us why, or why not!

I'd prefer not to eat or otherwise ingest grape flavored things, but I will if that's my only option.

I like grape zotz (fizzy candy) and grape soda, but dont have it much because I'm hypoglycemic. Oh, I do drink a lot of wine though...

Grape flavors are too fake to me, though every so often I'll crave grape soda. Takes me back to childhood, though not due to cough syrup associations. Our cough syrup was always cherry flavored.

i HATE artificially flavored grape and cherry things, for the same reason. because i was sick alot as a kid and i used to spit the aftertaste of them down the side of my bed after my mom would give me medicine before bed.

fucking YUCKO!


i think back then all they had were grape and cherry. when orange came in it was a big deal.

It depends on who makes it; most grape things taste really gross but there was this one gum....

It was really yum. Real grapes is nice too.

When I was little I would only take Dimetapp because of the grape flavor. Anything artifically cherry, which most kids meds are, makes me gag.

I like grapes, and I like sparkling grape juice, and sometimes like the Welch's grape juice, and wine of course, and Grape Crush, but I think that's about it. The rest make me feel like I'm eating Dimetapp and then I get all blech about it.

Hmmm Grape flavored things are totally hit and miss. I love some soda that is grape flavored, can't remember specific ones (maybe Fanta?). But I have been making my own homemade soda (including grape) and the colder it is, the better it tastes.

Grape pixie sticks were yummy as a kid, but I don't get much into candy anymore. So I think mostly just grape soda is what I enjoy from time to time.

I love real grapes, but I hate hate hate hate grape "flavored" things. You are completely right, Sam, they all taste like cough medicine. In fact, in pharmacology, when flavoring medications for children, a certain type of "Grape flavor" is used because it can disguise all but the most nasty medicines. It tasted nothing like real grapes. YUCK!

It's funny, near the end of summer, (we buy freeze pops for the kids in bulk for the summer) all that is left are orange ones and purple ones. I often end up throwing them away, because even my kids won't eat them.

Most fake flavors kind of gross me out a bit. So if I have a choice I will very quickly go for real flavors over anything fake. Grape doesn't particularly bother me, in fact I probably dislike cherry more, but all of them are pretty unappealing.
