Have you told anyone you like sex toys and got a weird reaction from them?

I told my younger sister today(who is of age) that I like sex toys and have a few myself and she acted kinda mean about it. She kept saying she didn't need stuff like that and that her boyfriend was enough. Well I don't NEED sex toys either but I damn sure love to use them with my husband. I showed her the Liberator I wanted and she tried to make me look dumb. She kept saying she would have no use for something like that and that her boyfriend and her can get into any positions easily(yeah okay) and comfortably every time. I felt pretty embarrassed afterwards and wished I hadn't told her. She acted really immature about it saying she would never need that stuff but if I need it then to each their own(UGH). She's very new to sex so I don't expect her to be into this kind of stuff yet.

Have you told anyone you like sex toys and got a weird reaction from them?

No, oddly enough all the reactions I've gotten have been overwhelemingly positive or at very least people have been willing to roll their eyes and laugh.

maybe she feels uncomfortable so that is why she is acting like that. and in her mind she would really want or curious to get one to see how it feels but just feels embarassed. even tho there is no need to be. dont pay no mind to her.

I once got an answer along the lines of, "Okay, TMI..." from a coworker. Most of the time I only tell people whom I'm sure won't give me negative reactions.

As for your sister, don't worry about her. She's the one who's missing out and letting her pride get the better of her. If the subject comes up again, though, you might want to let her know that her attitude wasn't exactly a fair one - she could have expressed her opinion without being mean about it.

Not really, I have got some strange looks from guys when I ask about their prostate health and what they are doing about it though. Even guys my age (40's) have no clue about anything they can do to help prevent prostate cancer. Sad really.

I really dont tell anyone. My husband is enough for me too, but sometimes I want more and there are different sensations that he just cant do!

I keep it to myself most of the time, but the few people I have told have been really open about it.

Most of the time I get actual sales and then a new student to mentor because of my toy collection. I tend to ignore those who belittle my interests because it says more about them than it does about me.

My sister did the opposite...she's four years younger than I am but thinks it's a bit of a competition to see who has better, more, ect.
It hurts just as badly because I would like to have a close relationship where we could share these sorts of things but whatever. Maybe she will eventually grow up.

I havent, but she sure sounded like she was trying to make her and her boyfriends sex life seem above yours. Sex toys aren't anything anyone "needs" but who doesn't like them? lol

It sounds like you sister is a bit insecure and is hiding it with the little comments. Some people will do that out of ignorance, insecurity and to cover up their lack of confidence and knowledge. Next time just tell her that your husband is more than enough as well, but you guys want to learn and incorporate more intimacy and fun into your sexual life. To make it the absolute best that it could ever be.

I shouldn't have told her because I know she's new to sex and a bit immature. She kept saying things like "ewww" so it's obvious that she has some major maturing to do. We are pretty close but she thinks she knows everything. Lol. Dammit I love sex toys. SO WHAT?! My husband and I love to explore and try different things. We have learned so much from EF.

I had showed her the Liberator I wanted and she kept saying she n her boyfriend didn't need something like that and that she's light so he can hold her up easily(I call BS on that one). I wasn't even saying she should get one. I was just explaining what it was used for. I don't care how experienced or inexperienced you are at sex, anyone can benefit from a Liberator! I think they're so damn cool and would be fun to use. I did tell her my husband is enough because he is but his penis does not vibrate and I enjoy my vibrators. haha. I'm disappointed by the way she reacted but what can you do?

I've told my bestfriend about EF and she joined. She was totally cool about it and enjoys sex toys herself. Wish everyone could be like that. Haha. I guess that's why I shouldn't tell certain people about what I like in the bedroom. Thanks for all your comments everyone! I don't feel so weird anymore. haha

Oh yes! I remember telling a friend about a sex toy I thought would really help with a physical problem she was having with sex. She was so insulted, we haven't spoken since.

No, I've never come across anyone who has acted that way. But Aussies seem to be more open sexually as a population.

I've never talked to any lady friends about it, but my two closest male friends know I have a growing collection and I regularly send them my wishlist links in their email so they can see what I'm vying after this time.
