Something that you would have time to talk to each other. Going to the movies can sound fun, but it leaves you in the dark where you can't look at each other or talk and get to know each other. Find a place to eat, depending on how fancy you want to go. If its not going to be too hot you could spend the day at the park. You can't really plan if you are going to kiss her or not. Just go with the flow of things. If you feel like you really like her, and get a feeling that she likes you then go for it.

There are advantages to going to a movie first, it gives you something other than yourselves to talk about at dinner. Though, "Dinner and a Movie" dates these days cost a small fortune. There is that to be considered.

I'd imagine the "grab a slice and a cold one" is over-played in NY. But, it's also probably a fail safe and a guaranteed good time.

As for kissing her, she'll let you know if she's receptive or not. Just pay attention to her body language. If she's crossing her arms a lot or seems removed from the conversation, the date is likely turning sour. If she's laughing and touching you in a playful or flirty way, then she's probably open for a soft kiss on the lips.

If you're looking for something laid back and outside in NYC, the High Line is pretty neat. What's not to like about a walk and maybe a picnic in an elevated urban linear park? Of course, take the weather into consideration. If the city's current oven-like temperatures don't improve, an outdoor date might not be the best idea, but hey, maybe you and your date are ridiculously heat tolerant.
