I use my list, go through most aisles getting what I need, and along the way I usually pick up a few other things that are on sale or look good.

I look for the things I need and if something is one sale that I will need later I get that too.

I have a list, but I go to every aisle anyway. I'm too spacey to be counted on to remember everything I need. Browsing is a reminder.

i get what i went in there for first and if i remember that i needed something else i go get that but if i see a great sale a long the way then i have to stock up..

First I hit the produce section; then I hit the aisles that have what I need & if I see something else, I'll get it as I pass; second to last, I hit the refrigerated aisle; I hit the frozen foods right before checkout.

I go to the store with my list to make sure I get everything I need to make enough cohesive meals, but I'll also buy other things that look good within my budget.
