How much junk is in your trunk?

Contributor: Jul!a Jul!a
So I'm selling my car, and had to start digging through everything that's managed to accumulate inside of it in the time I've owned it. So I started with the trunk, and found a lot of junk, lol.

I've got a case of oil, diluted antifreeze, jumper cables, upper control arms for a 1983 Lincoln Mark VI, a whole bunch of Lowrider magazines my fiance left in the backseat, and some random tools he left in there too. I think there might be some more random stuff too, but I didn't get a chance to finish going through everything, lol.

How about you?

Well, right now it's not too bad because we just bought a new car a few months ago. But when we got rid of that one? Wow...it was unbelievable. We bought our new car on a day that we had intended to be "just looking" and so we had to clean the old car out right then and there..we were pulling stuff out of the car for I don't know how long..the sales people were all just sitting there watching us and laughing.

Lol, most of the magazines ended up in the trunk just yesterday when we were cleaning off the back seat for a few friends to tag along while looking at new cars.

I used to have this awesome pink trunk, like a footlocker, that I kept in my trunk to hold all the stuff like oil, filters, extra headlights, jumper cables, and stuff like that, but I'm not sure where it went. I'm really sad because my new car will have a frigging huge trunk and it'll finally fit again! lol

My husband wanted to buy a truck to help with maintenance issues for our rental property. I don't want another vehicle. The deal is that we don't buy a truck, but he can stuff anything he wants in the trunk of my car. So its full of tools right now.

I too had the "Bought a new car without being prepared" moment and had to transfer everything from the old trunk into the new....Ever since I have been trying VERY hard to be better about letting junk collect...but it is hard! Especially in the winter. I usually do a big clean on the first nice spring day. It is usually full of coats, winter hats, gloves, and scarves. There are also ALWAYS several books and papers from work in there as well as several reusable shopping bags.

We just bought a new vehicle, so the trunk is spotless and empty. Our trade-in was awful - not so much the "trunk" area, but the backseats - it's amazing how much junk my kids will leave on the seats!

Am I the only one who saw the subject line and thought it was about ass size? Cuz I was gonna be all like, I got a LOT of junk in my trunk! LOL

We just a bought a used car today and I have no idea if there's anything in the trunk or not. Now I'm all curious.

When I first got my car my mom (whose old car it is) was obsessive about me keeping it clean, clean, clean. So right now, I think there is a black plastic bag in it (from when I went over to a friend's house and brought beer). My backseat is a bit of a different issue, I think there is two boxes (from when I got products from EF actually and was too impatient to wait to go home to open them). And one old soda bottle.

Right now I have 3 rolls of superman wrapping paper, 3 faded resin frog sculptures that belong to a friend of mine and he adores the silly little things and the paint has all chipped off so I'm repainting them, 3 blankets from going to the drive-in, a gallon of wiper fluid, and a giant square tupperware container I bought at a yard sale.

We got a new car recently too, so there's just some reusable grocery bags back there right now, I think. <3

We try to keep our car pretty clean (except from dog hair... that shit is everywhere), so our trunk just has a blanket and some reusable grocery bags.

I don't have a car now. When I did though, the trunk was kept pretty clean. The backseat, however, was full of stuff (mostly fast food stuffs).

I have a stroller (which rarely gets used anymore but we took it to the zoo recently...ish), an antique chess set that I really need to bring inside, cheap jumper cables, and a car tool set thing from my mom. Sorry, there's nothing too exciting.

Don't worry about exciting. The most exciting thing in mine was car parts, that I didn't even know were in there since my fiance brought them back from our friends place and didn't tell me about it, lol

Fencing equipement! Like, 'en garde!' fencing, not white picket variety. I used to do it a lot and was part of my college club, but I got so busy with work and whatnot that I haven't had time I keep forgetting to take it out.

Today I was driving my fiance's pickup. In the bed of that is a push bar off a 60's International Harvester. So says he. That went right over my head. But it's wicked cool looking, lol

ROFL!! I thought it was about ass too!

We've got an old sports car and a king-cab pickup, so no trunks for junk. The truck does have a fair-sized pile of blankets, towels, etc in the back seat for those impromptu day tips though.

Just picked up my new car, the only thing in its trunk, for now, is a full size spare and a jack.
