I got a new one last year, I had my old one for almost 6 years. But I did buy a tablet. I use the tablet for portability but to type reports my laptop is essential!

Just got the new Mac Mini, I like it because Iwas able to synch all my documents, programs and files from my 3yr old MacBook Air to it wirelessly. For me it used to be every 5 years but the last 3-4 it's been annually.

My one laptop I had for about 4 years before it finally started breaking. I got a netbook about 2.5 years ago

I've got some majorly old ones as well as some new ones - they're slow, but functional for certain things. The last new one I got was about 2 years ago. My poor printer won't work on the Mac OS after they took away AppleTalk, so I had to turn one of the old ones into just a print server (yes, the printer is a laserprinter from 1988, works beautifully, prints beautifully, and I cannot see tossing it )

I got a new one in January because my old one completely died on me. My old one was four years old though; I got it in high school.

I have several that are 5 or so years old. I don't do any major graphics, audio or video work, so I have issues. It doesn't take that much power to run a word processor or browse the web - that's why Net-books and tablets work so well. They actually have less processing power than my 5 year old PC.

When they stop working, since I don't have much money. I think my last purchase was about 3 years ago.

I got a new laptop about a year ago. I don't "upgrade" per se, I just get a new one when my old one stops working.

I don't really understand that whole desire to "upgrade" with technology. I can't even tell you how long I've had the same cell phone! LOL

Funny. I was just discussing how I loved my laptop and am dreading ever having to upgrade because my laptop, which is amazing will be "old" and I'll have to go with whatever is available. I wish they still kept the older things available too instead of always evolving to everything to touch screen and stuff and then not giving us the option to keep an older version. I don't keep up well with new technology at all! I got my laptop 2 maybe almost 3 years ago. It's an HP Entertainment PC and is truly amazing and everything about it just perfectly suits my needs. Also, it's like the largest screen (I think 17") and I love that because I can see well, and I worry when I absolutely have no choice but to "upgrade," that the only ones available will be those tiny ass notebooks, which are not big enough for me to do my work on!

When do I expect my next to be? As far away as possible. My lovie tried getting me a new laptop for Christmas and I said noooo! I love mine. So he got me a camera instead since I desperately needed one anyways. Then he tried getting me the new Kindle for my B-day, but I'm only just now getting used to my Kindle Fire! All these new devices constantly coming out are so quick I cannot keep up! Plus, there is nothing wrong with my Kindle. I've had it since the Christmas before last. Wow. Time has really flown the past few years because it only seems like yesterday that I got that thing! The way I see it, I don't need new just because the device has a newer version. It takes me a while to get used to a new device, so I like to stick with what I have. I guess I don't like change so much. Lol. And if my stuff is functioning fine, I don't ever see a need in just getting the newest versions just to have them.

I hope to be able to keep the laptop I have. In fact, when I do have to get a new one, I know I'll be checking to see if one just like this is out there available. Lol.

Not very often. My current one is over six years old. I don't like the look of the newest Windows so I don't know when I'll upgrade to a newer machine.

We don't upgrade our computers very often, but I do own three of the four iPad versions, including the latest one. I use my iPad non-stop, while I'm rarely on the computer.

I've been through about 4 computers, but I've finally found one that I really like and has caused me no issues. I've had my current laptop for about 4 years now and I love it. I have been wanting to get a Mac but I just can't see myself spending that much money on a computer I don't really need.

The one I use I got in 2008. It's time to upgrade, not because the software is outdated or it's running slow, but the paint on the front end is entirely scratched off and it's starting to lose screws. Literally, lose screws. And the casing is coming off of the monitor. Woo.

Usually it was about 4 years between computers though.

With our HP it seemed like every 2 years we had to replace it but with our macs we upgrade about every 4-5 years

I love new tech stuff. I get excited with change. Weeee!

I don't upgrade my laptops all that often, though. Every two to three years because, being on 18 hours a day, that's about all they seem to last.

I do upgrade my phone pretty much yearly, though. Bad me!

I upgrade every 5-6 years if the computer isn't broken by then.

Only when I feel like I have to. I'll upgrade if my computer is super outdated and no longer capable of what I want to use it for.

I got a new PC last June, only cuz my laptop took a dive. I won't be getting another until I can no longer use this one, unless I absolutely need to have a laptop again.

I've had this one for about 3 years, as long as it works I can't see the reason to upgrade everytime a new one comes out.

I have a newer one, but that was because my dog helped to break my other one. I don't upgrade too often for monetary reasons. However, my boyfriend is always upgrading his. He builds computers and always keeps up to date.

newer computers seem to last a bit longer than the older ones. That said We're still using computers 5 to 10 years old and not really looking to repalce them anytime soon.

When my computer does a big "F U" and starts to crash and die. I recently got a new one. It was pricey so I hope it lasts me a couple years.
Maybe one day when I make more money I will change every year =)
