I was four when I confronted my mom about it. I think it's mostly because I was really freaked out by every "Santa" I'd had pictures taken with. I didn't want that creepy guy coming into my house at night.

My childhood was not a happy one, my family was/is dysfunctional and there was never any Kodak moments or any happy moments, there was nothing but fights, broken hearts and tears even in holidays like Christmas. My mom once tried to make us believe in Santa to have some fun and whismicality but my dad being a real a-hole quickly shot it down. There was just never any happy whimsical magical moments in my childhood, just nothing but the cold hard truth of a dysfunctional family fighting constantly. Now as an adult though I do find interest being lighthearted and I find interest in magical whimsical things. I think it's always good to believe in a little magic to life. I think it's great to inspire children to have fun and play along. Just the fun of doing things together with people you love is really all that matters.

Kids at school spoiled it for me when I was under 10 years old. I was probably about 7.

5 or 6ish. Having never had a good mall Santa experience, I was quite okay with the end of that

I don't remember the age, but I believe that I was somewhere around 10 or 11. Santa kind of quit coming to the house. My aunt put some cute little socks with lace on them up for our stockings and then asked us if she picked the right colors for each of us. Blue for me and pink for my younger sister.

I kept believing for years because I didn't like the idea that my parents would lie to me like that.

Thanks for the spoiler alert!

I'm not totally sure what age for me, maybe 8 or 9. We've got a 5yo daughter who believes in magic, fairies and Santa and we're hoping she believes for a long time to come. Not just because it's Santa but because it's important that she has some kind of belief in magic and imagination.

I will never forget how I found out. I was 9, in a new elementary school and at lunch one day a boy told me about Santa, the Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy and about sex. One of the most impactful 30 minutes of my young life.

I really don't remember, but I am pretty sure it was my sister who spoiled the magic for me. As an adult, I still believe in Santa Claus because it helps me get through the day to day bullshit that has become Christmas in America.
