I just went to use the restroom and to my surprise, my cat was sitting on the toilet. He did not move and stared at me...i grabbed the camera because it was kind of cute. When I came back in...he was peeing!!! I have never ever tried to teach him to do this and have no idea where this came from!! He is 14 years old...so it is not like he is a young cat.....Ohh!!I have the pics to prove it--will post them later!!

Update--My husband has been flushing the toilet in our main bathroom for the last few weeks. He knew he had not used it and figured if I had been using it I would have flushed. He was really wondering about what was going on...
This is a goofy little cat--but adorable. He watched me climb a ladder a few times when he was smaller and then next thing you know...up on the roof. Later that night he was not in the house or in the yard where he normally was--I looked up and, yep!! On the roof, he could not get down!!
He has watched me open the door to let him in and out--when he wants in or out, he jumps and grabs the handle. Cannot open the door, but sure does try. What a cat!! (Proud kitty mommy here...)

I love when cats do such amazing things! I swear they're part human.
The closest my kitties come to peeing in the toilet is... when they're drinking from it. Uh! Well, only one does that, but it'd be nice if she'd put the other end in there!

There are actual courses (online, books, etc) that teach you how to train your cat to use the toilet. My favorite author Gail Carriger has a toilet-trained cat that was given to her by friends because she proclaimed she would never have a litter box in the house.
JS, your cat sounds really bright by figuring out the connections (climbing, opening doors, etc). You have every right to be a proud kitteh mama.

That has got to be videotaped! You should document all it's special tricks, like the door opening attempts, too.
I think it's so funny to imagine your husband trying to figure out who the non-flusher was! Does your cat only urinate in the toilet? Be great to have it never need a litter box. What a genius! You have every right to be proud, people are proud of their kids for doing stupid stuff all the time & this cat is actually doing something smart & out of it's normal skill set, now that is something to brag about!
