If you had a choice...

Since I only have to worry about myself and do not plan on having kids or anything big in my future, a dream job would be nice, i can always make extra cash in other ways by making and selling things and doing other odd jobs.

Right now, I'd take the higher paying job. It's not permanent. I can take what I am making and turn that into a degree in a field I would love that would also pay a good amount of money.

This is a tough choice. I know that not making enough money can make you pretty miserable, and haveing a job you hate can be pretty miserable.

Right now I'm a massage therapist and it's a job I really like a lot and it's not that it's low pay, it's just unstable pay. Some months I am fine and some months I really struggle to get by.

So now I am in school to get a higher/more stable paying job (dental hygenist) that hopefully won't be miserable, but probably isn't quite as fun as the one I do now. I figure I can always do massage on the side and always have it to look forward to.

It really depends on if I'm having to provide for anyone other than myself. I can live on next to nothing, but with a family to consider, money is definitely more important as kids are expensive.

I had a job that paid well, but it sucked, it was horrid and they treated us like what little they paid was the best we could ever get. I left to go back to college.

I would definitely choose the dream job. I'm miserable at my job now and hate it, even if it did make me a millionaire. I want to enjoy my life and do things that I can enjoy, if I have the opportunity.

I wouldn't mind starting with a low-mediocre salary if I was happy with the work, but in the same respect I'd also be looking to work my way up or move elsewhere once I'd gotten the experience. Bit of both

As long as I was happy in my personal life, I could deal with having a shitty professional life. Especially if I'm being well paid.

I'd much rather do something I enjoy than be miserable doing something I don't enjoy.

Need a vacation because I truly do. I'm anxious because I actually leave for my vacay in 2 weeks (yay!) I love my job (most days) and it pays fair, I'm not starving and I have some extra. I would rather be happy than rich so I would NOT have a job just because it made me rich.

I'd like to say that I'd take the dream job, but, to be perfectly honest, I need money! I don't really care about money, but I do need it - a lot of it.

Hating every single day I go to work?

No way, thank you, 2 free days to enjoy aren't enough with 5 to suffer, you must enjoy your life and your job too, if it isn't that cool then try to find something in it what you enjoy and can entertain you...

I would rather try to manage to earn extra money in other ways, ohhh I can even say that's what I am doing now, I could have a job paying well as hell, but am sitting at home helping my Master in webdesign sometimes, I rarely happen to ask Him to let me get something for myself, I earn my points here, toys are everything I need, am totally content with everything else in my life, if I ever make as much money to get every single thing on my wishlist of what to obtain in my life it'll be cool, but I wouldn't sell it for anything that I can hang out with my Love all the time at home and W/we don't have to go anywhere and obey some fuckhead boss...

Life runs away fast, and you can buy only material junk with money, but not happiness!!!

If I had a chance to earn more money eventually with my dream job I would probably take that, otherwise I would seriously consider the job I'd hate.

Tough one. I need a vacation! Lol. The job I'm doing now is something I love and I certainly don't make a killing so I have to say I would rather have a job I am passionate about, but I would want to have something else too where I could actually get by! Lol

I know my dream job will hardly make me any money. It wouldn't be bad to make big bucks, though, that way you could take time off to do the things you love.

I answered "poorly paid dream job," but it depends how just poor the pay is.

In real life, I chose my dream job, which limits me to pay ranging from poverty by definition to comfortable if I live modestly. I have the option of making a whole ton more money, but I'd have to compromise some strongly-held beliefs that really form of the foundation of my work. Making sure I snag work that lands me closer to comfortable than poor is really, really anxiety-making.

I adore my work. I love it fiercely, I'm excellent at it, and it's satisfying beyond words. I will absolutely give up some material security to have the privilege of waking up to this every morning.

But if I get stuck in the poverty-level salary range? I'd opt out. It's tough to be happy if you don't make enough to take care of yourself.
