If you had to go to war without firearms what would be the weapon of your choice? :)

So I'm going to be making some traps and stuff.

Longbow or improvised explosives/traps

I did fencing for several years, so probably a sword. But like a rapier type sword, not like a broadsword. I have absolutely no experience with any other type of weapon, so anything else would probably be close to useless for me.
