My boyfriend and I disagree alot on how to decorate our living spaces. We finally decided to divy up the rooms and whatever rooms we have, we decorate and have set specific guidlines together. Example: He isn't allowed to make every room black and red; I am not allowed to make every room green and brown.

I usally do most of the decorating, its a bitch when you have little kids that love to undecorate and hide items.

We share. I am grateful, he and I are pretty much on the same wavelength with our style preferences.

We have built 3 homes, remodeled another(ripped out an entire kitchen including all the walls and started over from scratch),and updated yet another house from top to bottom. Sometimes it takes some convincing, but we always seem to meet somewhere in the middle and everything always looks fantastic.

We work really well together. The harder the work is the more cohesive we become.

I chose two options because I choose But he does have some say. I always encourage my guy to participate and give me his opinion or input but all he has to say is that it doesn't really interest him and that he prefers I do it all bcs he thinks I'm better at it than him.

He wants me to like the looks of the place so her prefers I take the time to do it. It's not a "I am doing what I want, and I can't care less what he has to say" kind ofthing.

I give her the budget, she decides what to spend it on. But I have had the major decisions on the furniture we have purchased. Because she has always wanted to purchase cheaply made furniture that cost a lot, but will not hold up. I prefer to only buy the piece of furniture once for need. If we decide to change styles, that is something different.

I usually go out and buy everything myself. Sometimes he comes with me when I'm shopping and picks some things out. I try to pick things that are more neutral, rather than really girly things he may be uncomfortable being surrounded by. We do have a lot of cupcake themed stuff, though.

My boyfriend pretty much goes along with what I like but he does do some woodworking and makes nice shelves and racks and other stuff that we have in our home.

we don't live together yet but he does take my advice most the time on decorating his place. he has no suggestions for decorating my place, which is 100% me. it's very expressive and i really love that space. he's more of a bachelor in his beer cave, and he certainly makes some exec. decisions about his space, but like i said, will listen when i have suggestions.

it's nice that way.

He's actually really great with this kind of thing. He does a lot of remodellng and so he does good with any kind of fixes around the house. He recently made and installed me a whole new closet with handmade shelves and all! Ultimately, the decision is mine, but he contributes and is a lot of help. He leaves most of the decorating like bed spread, theme, colors, etc to me and he does the remodelling. He's an expert so that comes in real handy!
