Lets say your at a hotel on vacation and while having fun on the beach, you jump in the ocean for a swim. When coming out of the water, a large wave knocks you over, removing either your top, your bottom or both. Once you realize you are exposed, you also realize a vast number of people around you have seen you and are looking directly at you and your missing article or articles of clothing are floating about 20 yards out in the ocean. What do you do at this point?

Disclaimer: I realize not all women wear swimsuits that tie and can be easily removed by a rough wave, but for the sake of the question please put yourself in this position wearing such a swimsuit...a bikini that either ties or is strapless.

I casually swim out and get my swimsuit, put it back on and head to my lounge chair.

Not a woman so I didn't vote, I've seen bathing suits get knocked off of women several different ways, never top and bottom both though, most just covered up and went for a towel

I would go get my suit and stay out in the water for awhile. If I stay out in the water, maybe people won't gawk at me when I do come back out of the water. lol

^Exactly! And with the price of swimsuits, I am not letting it get away! I'd cover my chest with my arm as I went after it.

If the towel was closer, I'd grab it & use it for coverage.

But honestly, I might just go deeper in the water until a companion could get my suit or towel for me. I would never be at a beach alone, unless I owned it.

I would just casually grab my suit and keep swimming. I don't think I would freak out about it

Depends who I'm with. If I'm with someone who I feel like will give me a hard time over it (aka only my family) I would cover up. If I were with friends, I'd probably be like wooo, and keep going, or just put it on fast and move on and not care. I would probably put the top on first.

Something like this happened to me at a waterpark when I 14. I was on a huge waterslide and right as I fell into the pool the velocity from the slide and the top of the pool knocked my top of. Luckily I went under quickly so I don't think anyone saw, so I just pulled it back on.

I don't wear swimwear that would come off so easily. If I did have this happen, though, I would leave the beach as soon as I was dressed again. Probably would not ever return to the same beach again either.
