Ladies, would you want your man to open the door for you?

Just in general I don't really like having simple things done for me. Makes me feel kind of demeaned like I'm incapable. That's probably just a personal deal though.

Yes I'm kind of "old fashioned" though. I think it's respectful for a man to open the door for his wife/girlfriend just like it's respectful to open the door for the elderly

Every guy in my life (dad, friends, co-workers, etc.) opens the door for me--EXCEPT my husband. I don't think he's done it a single time. It isn't the kind of thing I'd ever bring up to him, but not gonna lie- it kind of bothers me.

I think it is a sweet gesture but if he doesn't do it then its not the end of the world or anything.

I open my girlfriend's door for her all the time, although I make it very clear that I'm fully aware that she is more than capable of opening it for herself, or else she'll remind me.

Whoever is closest gets the door. It's just human decency.

It just seems kind of time consuming. I could be out by the time he comes around, or we could both be in the car by the time he opens my door, lets me in, and walks around.

It's not really needed, but it is very sweet.

If we're both walking and headed towards the same door, I expect the door to be opened by him. Otherwise, I can open it myself.

It's not a requirement, but it's one of those nice, sweet things that wins me over a little bit.

Whoever gets to the door first opens it. It's just manners.
I don't find it demeaning at all when men I don't know open doors for me in public but sometimes the positions they contort themselves in to make it look like they're holding the door when I'm in front and holding it for them amuse me.

If he gets to the door first, it's fine. As long as it's not a race type thing.

Otherwise it just bugs me, I can do it myself..

Yes it is very sweet but I really don't expect him to do it. So if one day he doesn't, I probably wont notice anyways. It's not that big of a deal for me.

Actual etiquette dictates the man hold the door from the outside, wait for the woman to enter and then enter himself.

My Man was raised with few manners. It took months of standing in front of doors, doing nothing until he got the idea.

I will also open doors for others, usually elderly people, women with babies, pregnant women, people in wheel chairs or walkers, or whomever.

But, I do like when a man opens a door for me. I think it shows he has manners.

In our dynamic, I open the door for him. Well, unless there are special circumstances like when I broke my foot a few months ago. I open the door for him because it is part of my service to him. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, but it's not required. It sound selfish to say he should always opens the door, and quite often I hold the door for him if I get there first. But than again from the beginning I told him I wanted us on even grounds for the most part, it's fine to be romantic, but I can pay for things as well. Perhaps this was a bad idea since the romance factor is often lacking.

I do think it's really sweet but, I don't expect it. We've been married for 15 years and open the door for eachother now.

I hate the waiting in the car for someone to rush around and open my door for me things, but I love it when a man wants to open a door for me going into a building or something. I'm also not a fan of pulling out my chair, or rather, pushing it in when I'm about to sit down. There's got to be a happy medium there for me to enjoy it!

I like it when My man opens the door for me... I do not like it when another guy opens the door for me and makes a thing about it...

I'd actually prefer the other person to go in first and hold it open for me to follow them in. Holding the door open and waiting to follow me in is just awkward.
