Yes and I don't know if I could still play them or not. I learned a little on the keyboard, probably couldn't play now though. I played clarinet in 6th grade. Gosh, don't remind me! My twin sis and I both did, only we'd learned several songs & decided we did not want to be in band anymore, so we quit paying attention. Then our teacher would give the entire band class these "tests" where ONE person would play an entire song at a time while the entire huge class sat and stared and listened. Thing is, my sister and I quit paying attention, all we done was run our fingers over the keys pretending we were playing along with the band! Ha Ha. So when it came time for the tests, we were screwed! I remember once we both just said nothing when he called on us to play. We just sat there staring like we never heard him! Haha! He eventually moved on to someone else.

Music classes in elementary schools involved learning the recorder and ukelele (I'm surprised nobody else mentioned having to learn it). I didn't like either, especially with thirty other out-of-tune people in the room. I tried teaching myself keyboard/synthesizer in junior high, but didn't have the patience for it by that point. I wanted to learn violin when I was in Montessori School, but parents couldn't afford lessons. I really regretted having not learned when I discovered rock violin in my late teens.

In all honesty, I don't have it in me to be a musician - wasn't born with rhythm or timing. I also suspect any desire to do it was thoroughly quashed by the discomfort of public school music classes.

My musical 'career' began at age six, playing the triangle at a school concert - our piece was 'The Teddy Bears' Picnic'. By age eight, I had advanced to the recorder, at eleven the violin, and by thirteen, the cello.

Forty years later, I might just get a tune out of a recorder - but the violin and cello gave up on me long ago!

I started taking violin lessons in grade school, got quite good, but my teacher moved away. Then I took 4 years of guitar lessons in High School, I can still play, but I am rusty and need to bone up on my basics.

I play the alto saxophone. Learned as a child, and can still play.

Piano for 3 years until it became all work and no fun. Drums as a teenager. Guitar starting in college. I want to get a piano or a keyboard; I'm sure I could pick it up again. I have drums and play them several times a week. I used to play professionally and I'm still pretty good. I play guitar and bass almost ever day, but I'm not very good at either one. I took voice lessons for years, but I'm not a great singer, either.

I played the viola, clarinet and piano. I'd love to re-learn how to play the piano, just trying to get my hands on an upright at a decent price so that my daughter can take lessons too.

I took piano and guitar. I didn't get to stick with either for very long, so I can play a few things but my ability is nothing to write home about.

Saxophone. I haven't played in years, but I'm sure I still could. After 11 years of practice, I'm sure the muscle memory's still there
