@Septimus: Actually, you would just refer to the entire "structure" as a vagina. Now if you wanted to get more specific, you would say vaginal canal but never in any of my anatomy classes have the teacher marked off because I was talking about the vagina as a structure and not just a part (when we wanted to talk about the "vagina" itself, we said vaginal canal). It's kinda like referring to a house and then remembering that there is a backyard and a front yard and the garage too but it's all just automatically included.
