Living with parents and recieving things for reviews.. How do you hide/explain it?

I do feel a lot like a little gold fish smacking my head against the glass. I just don't have any real options right now.
I guess you'll just have to pick us where you left off when you move out? How long will it be until you can get your own place?

Couple years. I got like 2 more years of school before I can get a job in my career. I could get a job now but it'd mess things up with school.. who knows.. maybe i'll just try anyway.

I could try.. she still hasn't connected the dots that ive already gotten two packages. I'm thinking of only doing a monthly assignment every once in a while and say its video games or dvds. I still need a good place to store everything which would add more suspicion.

I don't think that getting a few new storage options to help organize your room would be too suspicious! I'm using something like this link

She's super snoopy. She'd see it and be like.. what is that?

I get them shipped to my post office box on campus (my parents live in the same town and I stay with them over breaks). So I run out 'to do errands', get the box, unpackage everything while in the car alone, throw the packing material away, hide the toys in my purse and make my way home. Campus is very empty on breaks, I can get away with unpacking sex toys in the parking lot.

Sthr makes a good point !You could always sign up for a PO box, too! Maybe you could start cutting out holes in books to hide them in? May I suggest starting with Steinbeck! (Lol, sorry Steinbeck lovers)

LOL yeah sounds good. I'm thinking of getting a new bedframe and some drawers .. maybe hide a box of some sort under my bed and have it lockable. Sucks that it would have to come to that.. a lockable chest.

If she asks you can always tell her that there're erotic novels and diaries in there! I'm sorry that you're mum's so closed minded!

I just tell my mom I'm getting books or something. I try to order when I already have packages coming (like my school books) or do it around someone's birthday so I can say it is for them. I try not to order too often when I am at home though.

I keep my toys in a large makeup bag, it used to hold hair bands and makeup, so my parents don't think anything of it. You don't have to hide hide things, hide them in plain sight!

I just have all of my stuff shipped to my dorm room when Im away at school and dont order anything during summer. With the discreet packaging no one knows and I dont need to worry about my parents seeing my toys (they would flip ape shit).

At first my parents just minded their own business and didn't say anything about the packages. Then my mom started nagging me about buying things online and wasting money. Eventually she figured out what was in the boxes, and a couple of weeks ago we had an awkward conversation where she expressed her disapproval. My current strategy is to try to get my packages to come on a certain day of the week when I know I'll be home and my parents won't.

I did live with my parents as an adult for about a year. I would get packages all the time (not from Eden; this was long before I found this site). Some of the packages contained adult materials (books and DVDs about BDSM mostly). They never opened my packages and they didn't really question what was in them. If they did ask, I would just say it was a book or DVD and that would the end of the discussion. My parents did accidentally discover my toy stash once while I was there. My dad didn't say anything about it. My mom casually mentioned it, but she was more saying how funny it was to see my dad's embarrassment over finding it. She didn't seem disapproving about it or anything.

I try to order stuff around the same time I have my birthday or at the start off a new semester. I can say its birthday presents or textbooks. But by then you rake in a lot of points and can buy quite a few things, so the package is quite bigger than what text books should be in. XD

The parents get very suspicious and ask me what's inside. I always say textbooks. Then say say; oh open it down here so we can take a look at what you'll be studying this semester.

I haven't figured anything clever yet to say about that so I usually pretent I diden't hear anything and run upstairs. >_> (smooooooth)

I would love to be in the reviewer program, but the influx of packages and trying to explain them would be to troublesome.

I usually get mail everyday from companies to test less private material like makeup and home products. It's always fun to open those packages with my family and marvel at the free stuff I got. Mom loves it and calles me super savvy.

I wish I could tell her that the stuff I get from EF is free and that I'm not just spending my money on "useless Internet crap".

I chucked a little Callisto At your comment "I swear its like she wants me to become a lesbian or something."

I kinda have the oposite prob. My mother would love to see me with a guy. All my younger life she would say wait untill you find the right guy. Your not going on a date untill after collge and your life is in order. We got to approve of him first, men are such pigs. Bla bla bla that kinda stuff.

It is getting to the end of my college life and I have not shown any interest in finding a husband. So she is getting a little nervouse, and is staring to set me on dates with men. My own mother is trying to get me laid!

I can never get romantic with them and we all become best bros. I think she's starting to figure out I'm not that into dick. ( sorry for being so frank, did not know how else to put it...) lol

Ok I'm done ranting....

Now that I go back I see that these posts are from 2011. I hope you are experiencing more freedom in 2012!
