Marijuana

Contributor: K101 K101
I don't smoke it anymore, but used to way too much! I developed a bad case of anxiety several years ago & just had too many responsibilities to keep doing it. I didn't want any kind of drug around the kids & it wasn't worth it anymore. I don't care for it now & it's been about 3 years since I last smoked. I have to admit, I had some of the most memorable times though when I was wild and smoked. I don't think it's as bad as most drugs. What I hate is that in our area the police are extremely hard on precription pills and marijuana, but damnit a girl can be raped & they laugh it off. Our police (sorry to say) are really corrupt and they don't give a damn about nothing but sitting around at the gas stations and hitting on all the young girls and most like it, but I don't. I have several close friends that are police & are nice, but all but one is disgusting! I hate the dirty comments they make & we feel like we can't say "stop talking to me like that, I'm a girl" because all hell would break loose. Anyways, what I was trying to get at was they're all about busting people for a little pot, but won't do actual work to give us justice with rapists and stop them. To me, I think pot and RX pills are nothing compared to rape & stuff. I mean, I know some of the stronger pills are dangerous, but I think there are much more important things than busting people with pills and pot.

I do think we could benefit from taxing it, but I don't know much. Lol. I guess it doesn't bother me either way, but I do wish they would focus on more important issues rather than busting the smokers. It's just pot! It's not meth.

Because even though I've gone through periods where I have used it regularly, I feel aside from medical use, it is a recreational drug. I made the point that it is similar to gambling, booze and tobacco. Few people "need" it, so as it is usually just for recreation, heavily taxing it would not only bring in high income for things like social programs, but heavy taxing would prevent some overuse or abuse.

It was tried with booze, tobacco and gambling, but the taxes still aren't high enough on these, IMO.

I think it should be legalized. Everyone that I know has smoked it at some time or another even my own parents. It's hard to live in BC and not smoke it at least once in your life. I smoked it and will probably will again if ever offered to me. I don't see anything wrong with it.

As a person with fibromyalgia, who is highly sensitive to drugs, I am thankful for mj. It's the only thing use that helps me sleep and provides pain relief with out nasty side effects! I DO NOT consider feeling nauseous and fuzzy headed an alternative to my pain. I'd rather have the pain. It should be legalized, it has made a huge difference in MY quality of life!

I've never done it and I have no interest in it. As far as legalizing I'm not sure I'm educated enough on the issue to make a call on what to do there.

Uh....NO. Sorry, but just no. I have never in my life run into pot laced with anything let alone those things.

Marijuana: Your breath don't stink AND you don't puke on your shoes.

I want it decriminalized, not necessarily legalized.

Your right about the puking thing - but long term habitual use of mj does have adverse side effects - not to mention lung damage.

Moderation is the key - but just like with alcohol, some cannot control themselves once they get started. Rehab facilities will have to get a lot bigger if mj use grows due to decriminalization or legalization.

Don't hate it, but I never will use it. I just don't like any drugs including alcohol.

I have tried it, it isn't really my thing.

I know someone who is a heavy smoker and this person enjoys it and states it is just a daily perk but his "daily perk" is getting him deeper and deeper in debt.

I do not smoke much anymore, but I enjoy it when I do. And I TOTALLY agree with those saying sex and marijuana are a great mix, because they are! I have had some of the best sex of my life while high.

I choose to keep all my brain cells - so I haven't smoked weed since I was an immature teenager. They were happy days though...hehe.

I know a few people who have gotten themselves into a lot of trouble after smoking marijuana. I don't think it should be legalized.

It has been legalized for medical purposes in my state. I do not use it, I am allergic to THC. I have no problem with other people who do use, but be responsible.

I smoked it once (before I realized I was allergic to most smoke), and coughed my lungs out. It also caused my heart to race and I felt pretty ill. Maybe bad stuff? Who knows. I think anyone who wants to should be able to try it, it just didn't work for me.

They should legalize and profit off of it instead of letting it rampart the black market. So long as people are responsible, they should be able to do what they want in their own home. Alcohol is legal, isn't it? And I'd rather have a high on MJ person on the road than someone drunk.

Legalzing it will deff. aid in stopping the drug cartels.

That's how I feel about it. I don't smoke it (I did a couple times in high school but it's not really my thing) but I don't really see how it's more dangerous than alcohol.

I used to smoke marijuana quite regularly for 3-4 years... then out of nowhere I started having horrible anxiety attacks every time I smoked, which continued for a month or so after I stopped smoking... so needless to say, I no longer smoke marijuana. I do think it should be legalized though....

I think it should be legal. Either that or Alcohol should be illegal. I see more accidents and fights from drunk ppl than high ppl. Drunk people wanna kick everyones ass and drink more. High ppl wanna know where the cookies are...
