It just came to me that Miss. Pennsylvania had posted on her Facebook account that this year’s Pageant was a fraud. She claimed that 5 finalist were already known or pre-selected by Pageant Officials before the field was narrowed down to that small group. She further claimed that the Miss. America Pageant is rigged. When she was not selected among the final 5 candidates, she resigned as Miss. PA. It made me wonder how all of you feel about the Miss. Pennsylvania’s claim or the Miss. America Pageant overall?
Not sure. I don't follow that stuff, but I was actually supposed to be in the pageant a few years ago (Miss Georgia!) It was so exciting! I had paid my fees, registered and been accepted and my stupid coordinator called to inform me of the choreography SEVEN days LATE! Just because of that I wasn't able to attend. I cried. And cried. And Cried.
Our local Krystal was sponsoring me. I didn't think I'd ever get over it, but when I was invited to attend again this year, I did some digging in about my crappy coordinator and what I learned made me never want to ever enter that pageant again!
So I would probably be leaning more toward the whole scandal thing, but can't say because I don't follow it. However, I can say I'm glad that I didn't get up in front of everybody and show my body to be judged like that. It IS degrading and now, I work publicly against this type of thing so it's probably best that I didn't make it into the pageant. Still, I really felt good when I was chosen, but I felt good for the wrong reasons. It probably would've ended up damaging me to be judged by my looks like that. I guess there are pros and cons, but these days, I am really against it. The pageant should be about more than your looks. It should be about making a difference and all that fun stuff. If that were the case and you weren't forced to be half nude in front of everyone, my ass would so be running for Miss GA!
