It was hilarious. This week was recycle pick up week. so, of course, I have way more recycle than garbage because I am forever getting EF packages/boxes hehehe....and of course I coupon, so there are always at least 4 or more sunday papers a week (x that by two because we have recycle pick up every other week) and of course tons of baby formula cans and food jars. Its insane!

So, what do I do? Im standing INSIDE the recycle bin, stomping up and down on it so I can fit more inside it so I dont have to wait until next time around. Yes, thats right, Im IN the recycle bin lmaoooo. My neighbor comes out and just stares at me like "What a tard, what on earth is she doing??". Combine that with the fact that I sat outside on my mini porch all last summer with a fold up chair and the laptop on my lap, smoking because we didn't smoke inside all last summer-he has got to think I am kind of weird by now LMAO!!

So I was wondering-do you "Crush your recycle bin down by climbing inside it too...Or is my neighbor right, and Im weird LOL

0_0 I never do that, I'd fall flat on my face if I did. I usually put paper items in a paper store bag though so nothing in the bins is really 'crushable' except the milk jugs but I take those out and just step on them until they're flat.
But it's your recycling bin and your house so you have every right to do things that might make neighbors think you're a bit off. Besides, all the fun people are a little crazy anyway.

Your neighbors need to get out more if they think thats crazy or using a laptop outside is crazy.

I dont have a recycling bin we save our stuff and take it down to the center to get money back. Stealing peoples recycling from their garbage is big here in LA to go collect money, so I dont give people the chance to find any in our garbage and take it down ourselves! I use the recycling money to buy myself treats like a fancy coffee or bluray. I need to actually go turn some stuff in soon my containers are getting full.

My recycle bin is always full!! They need to collect every week, not every other. I have way more than garbage... we recycle everything we can!!

Do you tear down all your boxes? That could help save a LOT of space. Making them totally flat by opening all the flaps.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that they paid folks to recycle! Thats nuts lol. I wish that they would do that here!


When I say that they think Im nuts with my laptop, its because I have about a 3x3 foot space that I am working with for a "porch". I have a lawn chair out there, with my coffee beside me, smokes on the other side....my phone, and baby monitor LMAO. I'd be out there for HOURS before I got preggo with my daughter. somedays I would be out there all day just typing away on my laptop lol. So yeah, Even I Think that I am a tad crazy lol

Maybe you could order another recycling bin? You might have to pay extra for it. Otherwise, make sure everything is broken down so you can stack paper products together.

we have the biggest recycling can they offer in our neighborhood and it comes up to my shoulder so i cant exactly climb in lol i make my husband who is over a foot taller than me push it down when i need more room

I don't think you're crazy. We haven't done that to the recycling bin, but my husband has climbed into the yard waste bin several times to stomp it down.
