I don't usually start caring for quite a few months, but I do care. So what if it happens every. single. year. So does Christmas, and Easter, and Halloween, and birthdays, and every other day that people want to go out and party. Except for February 29th, that doesn't happen every year. But for the most part everything else does, and people don't seem to get too much flak for caring about those

It is a good occasion to make a fresh start for the new year, catch up with friends who were too busy at Christmas and just have a holiday all about relaxing and you, not gifts, big dinners, etc.

Though it doesn't make any big difference I do think that with so many people having thoughts about it they all effect the new year in a magickal way - and as many of them have fears too we who want it to be good enough better add all our good thoughts to make it happen! ^^

true, but halloween, christmas, easter, birthdays, etc. have more of a...sort of "reason" behind them. you're celebrating something more than just "yay a new year." to me that's just really dull.
