Okay, I'm not normally the person who asks for much for Christmas or birthdays. I just feel greedy, but my girlfriend told me today that ideas would be nice for her. I told her I wanted a printer; I'm practical, I can't help it.

So... help me loosen up and pick something non-sexual, non-practical... something.

I did think of a stereo. It's been years since I had a stereo.

What do YOU want for Christmas? (ooooor your religious holiday of choice if you celebrate at all?)

Non-sexual, not practical that you might want ...

A feathered, frilly fascinator headband.
A Japanese paper parasol.
A funky little purse when all you want to carry is your ID and lipstick.
A pretty scarf in your favorite color.
A bottle of perfume you'd never normally buy.
Lots of candles in different scents and colors.

ETC.

(As for myself, I'd like to afford a roadtrip to get my stuff out of storage in Montana to bring it all back here to Florida. Or anything from the Victorian Trading Co. website.)

I'd like to afford going to see my parents, honestly.

But the candles and perfume are a great idea! I love pretty smellums. I can let her know that.

Personally, I want a new backpacking pack, a Barbour jacket, some Lush...

On the subject of Lush, everyone loves luxurious bath and shower products! They have adorable pre-packaged gift boxes or you could pick out individual items of scents you think you might like. You could even pick out stuff you think would be nice for you two to share.

After that, I know I LOVE *experience* presents, like tickets to a concert or some event, an activity we've never done. Is there anything you'd like to DO with your partner you wouldn't normally get the chance to do? Is there anything around you repeatedly think "Oh that would be fun to do" but never get around to trying it? Here's an excuse to try it.

Personally? I want this bag. I know that one shows as sold, but she makes a ton of them. I've been wanting it for years and if I don't get it for Chribirthaversary (Christmas, my wedding anniversary, and my birthday are all in the same 3 week span) then I'm buying it for myself.

Otherwise candles or perfume or something else that you've been wanting but haven't been able to justify buying is what I would ask for. I know my husband tells me the same thing, that he doesn't want gifts, and I bought stuff I knew that he did need, but needed because he wanted for a certain project. Like the year I got him motorcycle tires, and this year I'm going to try and find a hood ornament for his Edsel.

Tablet computers are as cheap as $100 now. Plug in a set of speakers and youv'e got your "stereo" and a heck of a lot more. You have the WORLD, in the palm of your hand.

What I want is a different story. I have a wedding to pay for early next year. What I want...no....NEED, is a winning lotto ticket.

All that sounds like stuff you CAN get in Japan. Sounds like you need a shopping trip to the orient.

M1 Garand... (Yep I know... Twang) Parts for my car or possibly some ps3 games.

I have the same problem, im practical and if I want it I usually buy it myself so when christmas comes up ive already bought what I wanted myself. Gotta remember not to do that this year LOL.

I want a fun cell phone. My current cell phone is not a smart phone and I really feel out of the loop so that's my choice for this year. Otherwise I'd like a new couch. We are moving into a new place and I want a new couch.

I have just re activated my cellphone and have pre paid the turn on and off button doesnt work anymore but you can charge the phone. I have to wait until next week sometime to see if I can afford a phone from wal mart.
