I haven't heard about this merger. I don't know where you live so I'm not sure the same is true for where I live - CA.

It's true, Dairy Queen bought Orange Julius way back in 1987, read this: link.

I don't like Dairy Queen stuff, but I'll go there for my OJ smoothies.

Around here the ones in the mall are a DQ/orange Julius combo, but there are also stand alone DQ's that sell hamburgers and chicken strips too, the ones at the mall just sell ice cream stuff.

That being said I almost never eat there, an uncle of mine owns a DQ so when I visit them I have to go, but I'm a vegetarian so I can't really eat very much on their menu other than ice cream.
