I'm packing to head back to college after my winter break with my family, and I realized how much I dislike packing, even though it's just a suitcase and a carry on bag. (I really hated packing to move to college.) How do you all feel about packing?

I hate it, because I am lazy and a procrastinator. I can never get everything to fit just right and I always would prefer to do other things lol

Meh. I like to organize things, so I guess I enjoy organizing the things in the suitcase and then organizing them in the room again but I don't like the actual process of MOVING the things - and myself. Hopefully that makes sense..

I moved in June 2010 and I still have a few boxes (maybe 5) left in the basement and on the sun porch.

Love it. Moving is exciting for me and I love the opportunity to look through my things and reduce the amount of clutter in my life. I never seem to get around to it, unless I'm packing!

If I give myself enough time I actually do enjoy it, it's just the frustration of always waiting until the last minute that makes it a dreadful experience. Usually I just throw things into bags and boxes haphazardly, or my mother offers to assist me and I kick back and let her do her magic (she is a master packer). I absolutely love unpacking, though. One of my many joys in life.

hate it lots and lots!! especially packing to move! however, while packing I also donated a lot of things that had just been sitting in the basement for 2 years, so..at least I made some people happy!

I can stand packing depending on what the occasion is. The unpacking is where I have a problem.

Other: I like packing a lot, not because of the act itself, but because it forces me to confront my packrat tendencies. It gives me the chance to sort through all my stuff and throw things away or donate them, because I tell mysef "You don't want this crap to clutter up your new shiny place, do you?"

When I think of packing, I don't think of a suitcase. As for suitcases, though, I've moved quite a lot in my life so it's just one more thing to do.

The part I don't like is how it never stays as neat during the course of the trip as it starts out when I pack.

It depends, If I am going for honeymoon then I am going to like it and take care for every detail. Also if I am going in 2 days vacation with my wife, no problem about it because only few things to pack. But If I am going for a month travel for work, then yes I will hate it a lot.
