I've swam in the ocean, I've swam in lakes. And I swam in public and private pools.

Lakes are my favorite for nostalgic reasons. Which is your favorite?

We live close to the ocean - but I've always preferred swimming at the lake where my in-laws have a house boat.

Ocean! Pools are ok but they're so chemical-loaded, and lakes tend to either be so freezing cold that nothing can live in them, or mucky and nasty. I'm definitely an ocean kinda guy

just for swimming, i prefer a pool, for other things i prefer other venues. For water sports i prefer a lake for a more controller water way and for SCUBA diving obviously the ocean

I like pools the best. I don't care for the chemicals, but I don't like swimming in lakes and the ocean because they're not clean and clear.

I will only swim in man made pools/ the ocean that is clear enough that I can see through. I have nightmares about falling into lakes/rivers with all those big fish, lake plants, murky water. I hate it and it freaks me out and gives me anxiety. The last time I was in the ocean I had to doggy paddle around without touching the bottom because I was so freaked out.

I am for the ocean all the way though were I live that isn't to easy.

I like pools. Ocean if its like white sand beach in Caribbean so you can see under ther water.

As much as I love the ocean, I chose pool. I don't want to swim fearing what is around me that I cannot see.

While looking for a fishin spot we ran across clear water (no kidding). We could see everything fish, tree stumps, even lures that were snagged off poles. That was an amazing place for a swim and fish.

I chose lake, but I was referring to the Great Lakes. I've also swam in the ocean, pools, rivers, and ponds.

I've swam in all of the above.. but, living in Texas right now.. there isn't really a good place for me to swim. No access to a pool, the lakes in this area are nearly completely dried up and any water I can get into wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.
